Well the press secritary of the Swedish Socialdemocrats new brainstorm yielded a great idea, to drop a traditional swedish holiday and make a muslim holiday a national holiday. Talk about giving the national party SD free votes. Wonder if they can drop their own Social democratic holiday may 1st.

Quite silly, it's not like the majority of swedes celebrate eastern etc cause they are Christian anymore. Maybe we can have a muslim holiday on 9/11?

Shouldn't the buddhists and hinduists (?) also have a holiday then? (and rastafarians)

They removed one day off when they decided that our nationalday was gonna become a day off. So doubt they will add more without removing others

i am not swedish

i am Danish, and you can only vote in Denmark, if you live abroad, by declaring an intent to return within 2 years and seeing as i left around 13 years ago i cannot

i can vote in EU parliement elections and local parliament elections here in Finland, but not referendums or national elections
(it is also complicated by the fact that since i left denmark i lived in the UK for 11 years and Ireland for 1 year)

It's sad that they think this stuff is important, I'd want them to take a look at things that actually matter - like Fas3, where 26,000 people work full time for ~£15 a day at various corporations, then when their period is up rather than hiring them the company just picks up a new set of free workers(actually, it's not free, they are getting paid £500 a month for the privilege of getting a free work force).

I once tried to order a dessert, "rødgrød med fløde".
At first I pronounced it as I thought it would be pronounced, and they didn't understand what I was on about. After a few minutes they figured it out, started laughing because I pronounced it totally wrong, then they said it as it should've been pronounced. I swear, there was absolutely no difference between their pronunciation and mine.... weird language

Tried to buy some Sherry in Ballerup a few years ago, the guy kept giving me cherries, Ended with a guy in his early 90´s to understand that i wanted sherry cream and not cherry icecream... But the beer was dirt cheap, pretty much only paid for the glas flasks and the plastic crate..
