I'm sick and tired of the crappy attitude most people have on here - it typifies whats wrong with the world today - instant gratification, exactly the way i want it or i'm going to complain, basically.

I post on a forum called team 8 - its smaller than FH and nothing to do with DAOC although it does support some online games and a lot of RPG's. They have a community in the high 100's roughly of regular users/posters depending on what time of year it is, what theyre working on atm etc etc.

Know how many whine threads i've seen there in a year? None. Know how many whine posts i've seen there in a year? THREE. THREE PISSING POSTS. IN A YEAR. I can see three whine THREADS in the top 10 here.

They have a great sense of community at that forum that is currently TOTALLY absent from Freddieshouse. I'm not saying we should all link arms and hug each other or something. I am saying we're a dwindling community playing a game thats on a downslope, and its either pull the fuck together or carry on bitching and whining until theres nobody left.

Mods - a number of other forums I know have what i'd consider a good attitude to people who have nothing positive to contribute to the community (they don't expect you to ass-kiss they expect positive comments or at least politely phrased, well reasoned arguments). If youre incapable of following that policy then they don't want you on that forum and will act accordingly.

In short i'd MUCH rather FH had a community of only 100 people that behaved maturely, contributed sensibly and had fun discussions/debates or hell even heated debates. Whats growing old for me personally is the constant shitstorm thrown around by the more childish members of the boards who can't see beyond their own noses. You do your modding the way you want, but its simple - i'd have banned at least 30-40 people from this forum in the last week alone for not being able to contribute to the community in any way.

Start contributing something positive, instead of taking stuff away, or get the fuck off the boards people. I for one will if you don't.

It's the DAoC Forum. Different to the other Forum and i don't really know what you want to reach with this Thread.It is a PvP Game and those Games allways create bad blood. Nothing wrong with it.The Forum is some kind of valve for the Community and you shouldn't take all the Stuff we write too serious.

Its gotten old, the old Barrysworld was about the same game yet didn't have this selfish, childish, unconstructive attitude that seems prevalent now.

Of course theres going to be flames, whines, and threats.

Excellent post but tbh sometimes I find some of the mindless chidish whine and lunacy amusing and I guess I can always choose not to read it. It can't always be avoided though sadly when it creeps into decent threads ruining them and its that I find annoying.

Less e-peen's and more respect would be a start but thats probably asking a little too much though sadly from such a varied userbase.

uuh, not really seen some really nasty stuff in those boards aswell. General is always a good laugh anyways

(and the percentage of.. lesser gifted people is quite high on VN tbh, on FH its merely a select few who are truly nasty)

Tbh that comparison is like saying that the Creative part here has less whine/flames than General DAoC Discussion on VN

The other point to remember is that this is the rvr discussion section. Other sections don't generate as much whinage and can be pretty constructive.

Your post is a highly negative post with very little positive comments and advice on how to improve things beyond banning people with shitty attitudes. I found it particularly unconstructive since it comes from a thread about what was basically an antisocial raid (in the eyes of a lot of people). Wouldn't it be worthwhile yourself taking-a-step-back-and-then-taking-a-few-deep-breaths....

I don't really mind the whines that much (to some extent) but it's the personal (sometimes hidden) insults that often get's a thread killed, which is a shame really that some people cannot express their opinions without insults towards other people.

No not really. From past experience we dont share the same view regards play style, but the tone comes over as a bit of a cheap shot, see where you're coming from though.

Disagree on another level, the mortar that holds the community together are strong guilds exemplified by high profile guild groups.

Also, I dont in anyway think that the whine here has had a negative impact on the game community as a whole, or specifically the FH one, on the contrary, I think it keeps things interesting and lively. There is a place for thought out constructive posts and a place to keep the whine and personal arguments and vendettas going. The forum can exist perfectly happily with both.

BW had so much more whine/+1 then FH, but there it got laughed at by people that knew better then the posters. here the posters (noobs) remain, but the ones laughing at them (leets) have been banned by the albion mods
