well finaly got round to playing it, arma 2 i got off the steam sales kept givin a key error when ever i ran dayz. found a fix today and spent 30 to 40 mins running away from a mass crowd of zombies, some how after 15 mins of being chased and twated by the zombies i stumbled over a cliff and a few of the zombies suicided by running on and falling all the way down.

did not come across 1 single player i think while i was running and it was a server which had 40+ peeps on

The map is huge, its 225km squared.

Well what an eventful night on our server, first a helicopter the first on our server sees me and gives chase i park up on my bike get off and hide in the woods at that point the helicopter is more interested in destroying my bike so i take out gunner 1 then it turns around and i take out gunner 2. Nice loot which i gave to BloodOmen and Mabs.

Then Nate wasn't on our team speak and i see him near one of our bases and shoot him dead, went to pick him up in Gwad's quad bike a wheel gets damaged so i save it and go back for the 4x4 we have pick Nate up get his stuff back and when i return to the quad it's half in/out the ground ;/

Sorry yeah sorry Nate for shooting you and sorry Gwad for fucking your quad up.

Off to bed now after all that drama.

Something strange happened though logged out at our camp last night logged in this morning it said i had died so i left the server rejoined and it spawned me at Elektra with all my stuff.

I once logged on, before it even loaded the map it said I died, the message "You are dead" appeared. Then i re-logged, and it spawned me on a blank map (no objects, just ground) next to two other survivors that were AI. I had half the items on me from before i died, no flashlight or bandage.
It spawned me clean as if I had died afterwards when logging on again.

Alpha is alpha, I guess

Would there be any possibility to change the timezone of the FH server into gmt -2 or -3 ? That way we would get at least some sunshine during the evening playing hours while still getting darkness towards the late night. I don't particularly like the darkness even though it makes sneaking around and looting easier.

I have been avoiding night time quite a lot recently but yesterday my favourite tent theft server had changed their time zone. I actually quite liked it. Except for the time I spotted a cow in a field, ran towards it and then spent another 5 minutes searching for it again! I was desperate for food and was on about 6k blood! I really want to get hold of some NVGs though. I managed to get up north where they all hide their tents so will do a little thieving tonight and see if I can get some. Though obviously tents are much harder to spot at night, I only know roughly where the larger camp sites are.

Can anyone PM me the TS details, I will see about getting on the FH server later today, once I have robbed the French and Americans.

I took 3 buddies out in a car last night, everything was going well until I hit an invisible road block. Everyone fainted and started bleeding, I got stuck under the car which meant I was dead regardless if I moved!, the other guys managed to regroup and save themselves.

I got a semi decent spawn directly south of where we crashed so I started to run North while one of my buddies, headed south to help me out. The 2 guys left behind to protect my loot decided to blow the car up with satchel charges in order to get access to my body, however as the retreated to the trees, they spotted 2 players sneaking around the village. They held off until blowing the car up until they were looting it.

I can only imagine them shitting themselves as they got blown the fuck up!

its hardcoded I think, goes by the time wherever the server is hosted

I have only had a pushbike, a boat that wouldn't turn and a hacked chopper that got me kicked from a server so far. I saw a blue camper van driving along but it was quite some distance from me and didn't want to take pot shots at it.

ive got some tearing atm.
tried AA off, no change
tried the "shift and -" then type FLUSH to flush the gfx, still doing it

if all else fails: look at the source of it, relog/quit out, should force a reload and rerender it.. in theory

People camp the cities on all servers and FH server is no different.

The roaming thing seems a bit wrong for this game if im going somewhere generally I need something no point roaming for the sake of roaming .

dont think its too campy, ive been dying on and off, and respawning in various places, not been really molested. night time is more campy tho so /shrug
