Yep, seems to be a recent thing. The folllowing seems to fix it more or less:

Got those giant shards and artifacts making the game unplayable? Fix is here:

Go to Documents/ArmA 2/playername.ArmaA2OAProfile
Open file in Notepad
Search for “sceneComplexity=;”
Change to “sceneComplexity=100000;”
Save changes and exit.
Launch DayZ with preferred method.

Also you can make this tweak by setting “Object Detail” to “Very Low” (thx again to Szalent)

A quick tip: if things are suddenly running bad you can try and flush the system. You flush by holding SHIFT and pressing the numberpad “-” key. Then let go of SHIFT and type the letters: F L U S H (flush). Your screen will go black for about 5 seconds, be careful.

the next patch will fix the graphics glitches which is due any day now.

I just turn v sync on and off or adjust video memory usually fixes it.

Had full screen glitches at the airbase this morning but managed to somehow get into the firestation to log out.

Only seems to happen on some servers so I reckon it could be a particular loot item or something causing it.

If you have a knife, matches and an axe you can hunt for meat (shoot an animal and interact with the corpse) harvest wood with the axe (right click it on tool belt) then build a fire with matches. Interact with the fire and you can cook the raw meat. Cooked meat gives you back a decent amount of blood.

If anyone is about at the weekend I wouldn't find making a hunting party to find the camps in the north. Would need a vehicle or two though.

Are you guys using voice comms external to the game? Would be good if people were using steam voice comms, or TS/Vent etc that way we could go find megadave and give him some blood

I've got no broken limbs, just really low blood so keep fainting. Logged in and it said I died before I'd even got in, still alive but been respawned by the coast in the same state as before, how annoying.
