Yeah, that's definitely a big thing for me. When I have spare time, I log on. There's always something to do. Since DAoC in every other game I've played (and in DAoC towards the end) I would only log on for set group times. Overall I just enjoy the freedom of the game as well, being able to gank your own faction is brilliant. Ever hated another guild on your faction? I'm sure most people have, well now you can flag up and kill them. :)

Still lacking one good healer on Dahuta/East if anyone is looking for a guild focused on PvP/small scale. We have a guild farm house with a bunch of farm plots in Lutesong, boats, decent level crafters etc as well as being allied with Pandemic, a slightly bigger guild than ours with a similar ethos. We play most evenings and weekends. Ideally we're looking for someone who is at least lvl50 and has made some effort to get some gear, but we can help with GHA / Hasla.

When a sever is mentioned being "East" is that the starter continent/island or something ? I've started on Dahuta but got no option to start in a particular direction, just "Dahuta" I'm an elf.

there are two races per continent.

Cat people and oriental humans, make up the east

Elves and other humans make up the west.

Yeah it's not particularly obvious. Weird design choice on that part of char creation.

Invites to people we know/have played with - especially given everyone is 50 now, you'd get nothing out of being in the guild anyway since we're so small. :)

Hierophant is such a great spec, but I'd recommend leveling Defense as well once you get 50 as well as Songcraft. Healer/support specs needed can vary wildly based on what you're doing. If you need any help/advice with anything drop me a pm in-game.

How are you getting on @Zede ?

Heirophant is...slow to level, mainly because witchcraft seems mainly a support class so i'm toying with the idea of getting archery instead for the remaining 25 levels. Foolishly got lots in Vitality at the mo, dreaming maybe i'm gonna be able to heal some dungeons. But alas... being power-levelled by the mentor system is well....not the first dungeon experience i wanted tbh ! Is it worth trying break up the Q xp by doing some dungeons ? only spam i see is for the L50 dungeons - and always wanting healers, which is nice.

Had a friend recommend me his tonight and since its free to play I thought why the hell not, got to lvl7 on an archer before it turned out I picked the wrong race to play with them :p But anyway it gave me time to check for decent builds and apparently Demonologist is meant to be solid so I'll be trying that out tomorow. The ships and such look interesting.

Take Sorcery to level, it's the most mana efficient thing you can get. All you need from it is Freezing Arrow + Flamebolt. All you do is pull with FA, then spam Flamebolt until the mob is dead. It's super mana efficient and good DPS. You can also throw in the Enervate + Earthen Grip combo for some CC, healing and mana back (Flamebolt combos with Enervate). You'll also want Sorcery at 50 for farming purposes, so makes sense to get it.

I'd swap out Aura and level with Sorc + Witch + Vita as you want Vita + Witch high lvl more than Aura for playing Hierophant at 50. You can also stop leveling Vita when it's lvl45 and go back to lvling up Aura as the lvl50 Vita skill is completely useless.

Dungeons, sadly, are a complete waste of time until 50.

Another tip for leveling: expend your labour. You get XP for doing anything with your labour, so mine any iron nodes you see, then turn the raw stone into bricks at a smelting station and the bricks into hereafter stones at a stone bench. This is extremely quick and easy XP.

If you grind it on mobs... yes. If you level it by expending labour (mining, fishing, crafting) not really, especially if you use pots (+100% xp from crafting for 1hr, can also do that to lvl faster - I did 48-50 in 10mins that way :p).

And when Auroria releases (soonTM) then you'll be able to grind the Library instance and everyone will have every skill at 50 super quick.

Sorc/Vit/Witch was a big decrease in dps ! To many synergies with vit to drop aura, so now Vit/Sorc/Aur and feel comfortable, besides i can now teleport. Everyone seem to be mining/gathering etc...tbh not seen many nodes. Saw 6 mining trucks in convoy trundling down the road before...all these ppl doing stuff sure does make the game more vibrant :)

Yeah, it's one of those things that I think is a big plus to the game from it being F2P. While there are certainly some downsides, I'd say the positives massively make up for any negatives. The game feels so alive, while playing TESO for example just felt like an online single player game. It's great. Really hope it stays the course.

first game ive ever filled the ignore list..
Gold sellers or the random wannabes in /nation. Mind numbing, the conversations that go on in MMO's these days. If it is sellers then you can delete them as they only stay on a day or two then reroll before account ban.

Like the game but like any sandbox you often get a lot of trolling pricks. L50's in the lower level zones PK'in people trying to quest. Watched a guy yesterday called Bauer PK L39's in Windscour continuously. Same 3 guys being killed at least 5 times each. Don't get the challenge in that, never understood it and probably never will :). Killed him twice and then he comes back with 3 L50 friends.

A mate an I were taking a few late 30s through HF. 10-12 guys in one guild turn up and start camping us. Killing the low 30s around and generally being fairly annoying.

We were slowly able to pick them off one by one causing them to flow back into the area one at a time. I got something like 55 kills out of it till they came back as a group...then we dropped the rest of our guild on them...and camped them in Nui any sub 50 reds were allowed to come and go, 50s got stomped :)

Random wannabes. And mostly get killed while questing by my own faction.. Muppets.. Got killed by a guy, came back killed, him, he came back found me waiting on him, he came back thought i was gone, jumped the next guy from our faction, so i jumped in killed him, he came back killed him again, he started sending whispers that i was griefing him, he came back with 2 friends, got help from some random guy and killed the 3 got accused of cheating, got the debuff for being reported.

Over 10,000 botters and hackers banned. Gold removed from those who bought gold etc etc, good to see.

The PKing is a bit of a joke. So many higher levels camping the 30s zones. Always - either much higher level, or at least two of them, or come at your from stealth whilst already fighting, never remotely a fair fight. I gave up for a few hrs last night. Killing mobs way off the beaten track, get PK'd by two level 43s(i'm 37). Rez, head the opposite direction only to be PK'd within 10 seconds of leaving the safe/rez zone.

You can be standing in the middle of town just handing in Qs or crafting - a L50 can just walk straight up to you, kill you in seconds and guards/npcs do absolutely nothing ! Really is a 13 y.o gankers paradise. Absolutely nowhere else to level other than these gank-easy zones, and not a subscriber so no points just to get xp from making stone and the like.

death from mobs in total since level 1 = about 5
death from PKs = 50+

peaceful, not a war...what ever...is being L50 so boring they are forced to PK lower levels for NO honor ?

Really like that fact respeccing cost peanuts and can be done instantly...have just enough points to try out some more pvp orientated specs...just plonked 11 pts in Sorc and got the top tier passives, although the 10pt passive in Aura does sound like a PK escape tool...hope i'm right ! will be trying it later :)

Yeah the ganking can get incredibly annoying. Sadly no way to avoid it. The freedom the mechanic gives you at 50 is worth the grief though, imo.

Tbh, the safe zones need to go one zone further imo. Should only go pvp once people reach the 40s.

Additionally, on Nui atleast, people have found buildings they can stand on in towns that aloow them to grab players and pull them up on the roof, but once they take a step back the guards can't see them so just spaz out, reset, the player attacks the person who pulled them up, guards can still see them and kill them. Watched a couple of 50s do it to greens in Rockborne.

People in my guild have recently been told the joys of sport fishing. Not a minute goes by now without someone asking if a fishing boat is online, when told no they respond with "BUT I NEEEDD TO FISH" i can only respond with 'craft your own boat then' so many times....

I just bought a months patron, on the back of i'm fast running out of labor points and getting 10 instead of 5 every tic and offline regen seemed like a good idea. Guess what ? bugged, don't work. Paid monies to be able to use the AH, oh joy.

Miri, when you crafted from 48-50..what amounts of raw material did you need ? and how many labor points ?

currently got about 2k iron ore, 2k raw stone, 40 copper ore, 30 silver, 7 gold..reckon that's enough if i use the xp pot with 3k lp to use ? - (for 48 to 50)
