My favourite release of this year is probably 'You are Free' by Cat Power though on the other side of the coin '21st door (i think its called :p ) by GD Luxxe is also a strong condender.

The only album I've listened to all the way through this year and the re-listened to is Bic Runga - Beautiful Collision, but then I don't listen to albums much so it probably isn't that great

Just bought myself Muse's new album.

Sheer excellence.

Just picked it up yesterday too.

It's good: clearly Muse's best - but it lacks the powerful punch to give it album of the year title, it just doesn't take you aside, and slap you gaining an immediate response.

Whoever said Mogwai needs a medal, awsome album

Dont know which is the best album of the year I like loads, but listening to Snow Patrol - Final Straw at the moment and its class, so i'll say that..

Look here, if you SORT of like the Thrills, then get ijto the Byrds and Beach Boyys, The Shins, and Flake Music (last two are the same band, different name) as they rock the socks off the The Thrills to be honest The Shins could PISS a better summery pop tune than the The Thrills could, even if they try for the rest of their lives.

I'm not dissin' The Thrills ^^ there by the way, thye're alright, pretty boring, but if you like them check out those artists above and the following songs...!

The Shins - New Slang
Flake Music - The Shins
The Byrds - Turn! turn! turn!
Beach Boys - I'm waiting for the day.

Well it's not like I don't know all about the Byrds and Beach Boys. I'll look into The Shins then if they're so good :)
