A newbie again, advice for returning lvl 42 warrior

Im back and trying to get into this game again, I only have 13 days left to decide whether I want to pay for this or not, perhaps some of you can help me.

I seem to remember being a reasonable tank back in the day, however now im truely pathetic, partly because im incompetant but hopefully theres a fair bit related to my equipment being out of date.

Can any of you guys reccomend what equipment I should be wearing? I think i have a fair bit of daemon forged and stuff of a similar quality.

I have only about 1p to spend on this unless i can get some salvage from my old stuff.

Also what guild should I now look to join as a level 42? since my old guild is all but dead.

And finally, what are the abilities I should look to be using during battles?

I guess you are talking about PvE.. since you aren't 50 yet.
If you have TOA try to get some random salvage drops from TOA. Otherwise check housing zone for low quality drops (90-95%) ... usually doesn't costs anything. Or buy a Warrior Epic armor.

What kind of guild or what guild? What server are you playing?

Spec: 50weapon, 50shield, 28parry..
Not sure what abilities you mean.. styles? Are you axe, sword or hammer specced? usually taunt works ok in PvE if you are grouped. and slam that you will get at 42 in shield.

For equipment, housing area is your friend. Here in Albion most level 50 RoG rings/bracers/necklaces/belts/cloaks that aren't über cost 10-50g. Don't know what its like in Midgard though. Try to find a set that will raise your primary stats (str, con, dex, qui?) and hp, physical resists, weaponskill, shieldskill, parry for levelling to 50. Same goes for weapons and armour of course.
Play around with a spellcraft calculator to see how the different pieces works together.

Im specced with sword, i hope that isnt too bad.

ive been using the taunt ability but i think its damage is quite low. may be useful in groups, which are good when solo'ing?

im on prydwen midgard. I thought i was posting in a prydwen bit ooops

to get stuff from the housing area, do i just wander up to any old merchant where they give me that search feature? seems to be a lot of stuff to go through in the list! guess its worth it if I can start taking on blinkin yellows again

oh and as for going to 50 in shield.... i was going for the shield/parry mix, which I thought was looking pretty good back in my day........
