I think we need to start asking Haarland to wear his boots on the wrong feet. He is ridiculous.

Definitely not Lollerpool's year. The guy we got on loan from Juve to plug our midfield gap has a thigh injury which needs an op, so he's be out 3-4 months.

Trent really not making sense when it comes to defensive duties.

Trent really not making sense when it comes to defensive duties.

Under Klopp Liverpool have always played with at least one out and out defensive midfielder who has been able to cover for Alexander-Arnolds lack of defensive positional awareness. This recent change of formation to a 4-2-3-1 has left him exposed like never before, so it's now a lot more obvious. He was at fault for Arsenal first two goals yesterday (although Van Dijk who is also having a poor season didn't help him on the first one). Gomez who replaced him at RB was poor for the third, which is an issue for Liverpool - they don't have a decent backup for him.

He is obviously a good player going forward, and worked well for Liverpool in the 4-3-3, but he looks a liability at the moment. It shouldn't be a debate that both Reece James and Kyle Walker are clear of him for England.

Not really.

2016/17 - Emre Can - Liverpool and Jurgen Klopp - A Tactical Review of the 2016/17 Season - Liverpool FC - This Is Anfield
2017/18 - Emre Can / Jordan Henderson - Analysis of Liverpool's 17-18 tactics: Fast breaks, early pressing & rotation - Planet Football
2018/19 - onwards - Fabinho has played there when available, with Henderson & Keita as backups.

This isn't a point up for debate, it's just a fact. There are a few exceptions to the rule where Liverpool have deployed a 4-2-3-1 against absolute shit teams where it doesn't really matter if Alexander-Arnold is out of position.

Literally what is the point of this fucking forum now?

Someone makes a point in any thread, and Scouse just tells them they are wrong.

Rinse and repeat.

Wow, doesn't take much for you to rage hard does it @Aoami.

I said "not really" (hardly a big put down) to this:
Under Klopp Liverpool have always played with at least one out and out defensive midfielder

Which isn't really true. Hendo and Can played rotating central midfielders. It wasn't until Fabinho arrived that we had a specialist "out and out" defensive midfielder who acts in that fashion. Prior to that we were much more fluid in those responsibilities.

You need to chill the heck out.

Undecided on if Kane dived there, looked soft as shit the way it went down. Rare mistake from Pickford bobbling the ball but what a place to do it.
Pickford either knew he fucked up with the mistake leading to the fall, or he knew there's no point challenging it because it was Kane.

Either way, two matches we've looked far from good, giving far too much respect to the opposition. This is a difficult month indeed.

I'm not sure anyone apart from Everton fans believe Pickford making mistakes is that rare, he does indeed do great saves but also some humdingers in terms of errors.

Still, that's only 9 out of 10 right backs we will be taking. Might be only 8 right backs if TAA is also injured.

Yeah but it is a bummer for Chelsea more so but also for England because he was probably the best of the RBs at the moment.

Whether or not he is the best RB atm is pretty irrelevant to Southgate. Was he any good when Southgate was U21 manager? That’s his metric.

Leeds vs Arsenal temporarily suspended because the refs communication system is fucked.
