Not in the slightest. If the crusty wastrel can't do without oil for his pathetic publicity stunt when other alternatives exist I'm intrigued as to how the rest of society is going to do without it for actual important stuff tbh.

Protest against the Saudis yeah don't blame you, unlike Roman they are actually murderous bastards (and I'm glad the Saudi bid for Chelsea has been unsuccessful), but oil in general?

Unless you can suggest an alternative I suggest you get fucked tbh.

lol

I think it's probably because it was a very effective protest. His t-shirt is plastered all over social media. His message is most definitely out.

The proposed champions league changes sounds like whining from teams that want to guarantee revenue even when they are playing shit

It just seems completely pointless when the rules aren't properly enforced anyway.

Now I'm torn, who wouldn't want Wales or Ukraine to make it to the WC? but who would turn their nose up at dumping Scotland out?!

Weird transfer dealings with Everton, mainly with our outgoings...

Buy Moise Kean for around £20m, hardly play him before taking him to PSG on loan were he plays well....

Comes back to us, plays his last League Cup game getting sent off, then we loan him out for... TWO YEARS back to Juventus with an obligation to buy in the third.. for pretty much the price paid for him.

Something is well off about that, how does that help us here and now if we're at risk of FFP breaches, plus I have serious doubts in 3 years Juve will cough up the dough and try wiggle out of it...

So... Not even a full season goes by and they're already trying to get out of it, because he has been shocking for them apparently.

"Obligation to buy" = "Not worth the paper it's written on".

The only concern will be is he another who's contract will be allowed to run down so he gets to leave and enjoy big signing-on fees when the inevitable comes about. How this helps us with FFP if we may not be able to sell him is another matter, so this could go down as being another mega failure.

Also, pissed off Liverpool scored late. Had a free bet for 1-0 win. I seen the cashout button, but I put my phone down to trust it. Two minutes later... pch.

Well, fuck. That was a match we could have ill afforded to have dropped any points to.

So, shit. This might well be it. Once more individuals have cost us valuable points through a moment of carelessness...

Yeah, panic stations for Everton. I never really thought it could happen until that third Burnley goal went in but now they're bang in trouble. And it's a sad indictment of where Dele is at that he can't even get into this team (assuming the rumours I heard that Everton are brassic and don't want to have to pay for his appearance bonuses aren't true). I saw Everton were surprised at how bad his fitness levels were when he joined but they've had plenty of time to address that.

Didn't see it, but I feel your pain mate... your loss might be our gain though... Leeds are far from safety still......

A shame for Everton, but they have completely self-destructed over the last couple of seasons, some seriously questionable buys for seriously questionable fees.

The Dele situation is really really strange, we've made bad business in the past there's no question but this signing has really struck a chord.

We've paid I assume a big fee for him and he's been almost immediately frozen out. I'm still baffled by the Patterson omissions though.

Questions have to be raised over Lampard though, his team selections are well off. This will be on the fans this time though, they wanted him. They where vitriolic through the whole saga post-Benitez about Lampard being the chosen one.

It's also strange, we have England's number one between the sticks... Yet this could well be the second time in about what, 5-6 seasons that he's been relegated? There's some sick irony in that...

Part of me does think we need to be relegated though, we need an absolute clean slate as we've not been "ourselves" since Moyes left. That was over a decade ago, with him we ended up losing our senses... The other part of me thinks relegation this season would be the worst of the worst what with how Liverpool are. You can't visit any Everton related forums now or read any comments.

It's similar to Maguire, absolutely awful at UTD because he has absolutely no support in front of him and no confidence, but stick him in an England squad, and it works.

Everton going down could be absolutely catastrophic for them. Why they went for Lampard when someone like Benitez couldn't get a tune out of them is baffling. Benitez had to go, it wasn't working - but Lampard? I'd be very surprised if Lampard is still there if they lose their next game, as they have a very tough run in, where as Burnley have Norwich next. I think there is a chance they could turn to a Big Sam type as a last role of the dice.

For every £100 that Everton earn, £98 of that goes on wages. Their yearly wage bill is £183m. If they lose the Premier League TV money, that £60m p/a parachute payment is not going to make a dent. Their players don't have relegation reduction clauses in their contracts because they thought they would not be in this position. They would have to have a fire sale of pretty much all of their talent to be able to survive, and a Southampton/Wolves/Sunderland type situation is definitely a possibility. They're breaking financial rules by miles, so there is a chance they end up starting next season with points docked.

The biggest problem they've got is Alisher Usmanov. Up until last month, they've had Usmanovs fortune to plug the gaps - this is not an option for them anymore, for obvious reasons.

Another funny stat is that they made £16m in player sales in 2020/21. Those players cost them £129m. What's that, like an 800% loss?

Ffs, you just can't call it with this Everton team. Or (to a lesser extent) with this United team.

Whoever their manager is next season, they have some serious work to do

I'm usually wrong about these things, but Ten Hag seems like quite a mediocre appointment. Ajax to United is a huge leap. I wonder if they're regretting not nabbing Conte.

The manager is not the problem at UTD, the board is. The backbone of the squad, created by Woodward, is utter shit. The midfield don't want to defend properly because they are all individuals. Maguire gets a lot of stick, but I don't think any big central defender can defend, largely, alone.

From this season's performance, I can't think of a single player that would get into the Liverpool or City 11.

Manager is certainly a big part of the problem. The reason clubs like City and Liverpool are so dominant is that they managers who know exactly what they are doing, and what players they need to achieve that. That's why Klopp can sign players like Jota & Diaz, who looked sort of above average before, and turn them into world beaters - because he knows the exact profile of player he needs to fill a very specific role. Pep is the same at City, although the Grealish signing was very out of character and weird. Before that, I think their record signing was Mahrez? Neither of these clubs need to go spend £80m+ on players because of the way the manager sets them up. Moyes at West Ham is another good example. Look at how they're overachieving on a small budget.
