Really got to wonder how long you guys going to write about this matter.

I ran with 3 different groups of people I tend to call GG's. Only one of those in albion ever actually avoided killing soloers or didnt gank duo's or add on 1 vs 1 fights. Yeah most probably say they would never do that and next thing you see if you say some of them rolled over soloers is that they did it because they know the person being adder or he would have added some nice day anyway...

I like not to add on alb groups I know (the 2 that I think still running with some of the people I know) but if its anyone else or mids fighting hibs I just add if im in that mood. Never in my soon 4 years of playing have I left alone when I have been soloing with any of my chars so lost my "respect" to others in that way ages ago. And 99% of my friends dont even know all my chars names and I only have played my theurg more than casually so cant be really known for adding past 3 years so that wouldnt be a good reason people kill me while im solo. And I dont go to agramon because soloers are eaten alive by fg's or 2 fg of those stealthers lurking there. If the gank groups run over everything they see night and day I cant see how anyone would respect em after that enough to not add on their fights.

GG's always tryed to promote their way of playing being superior/better on these forums and I really dont mind that. What I do mind is people abusing others all the time these days. There is all kind of people playing this game and I cant see why everyone couldnt play happily without the cosntant abuse and name calling. I mean some take the game more serious that others and even though its only a game I havent seen people going shopping and abusing everyone they meet because its just life and your anonymous to them also. So really really hope rather than sending abusive messages/calling people names in here or ingame tell your girl/boyfriend or friends how that v**un m*****u i*****i just v***u s*****a p*****e <insert random thing that someone did here>

If for some reason next month or so now im playing pryd again im left alone by all the GG's I meet I might consider going back to not adding on anything mode but since I can tell thats not happening I strongly advice everyone to not hold your breath while waiting.

Film plays a scout as a main ? Well Jjuraa, arguing with someone is just a rp-leech is gonna get you nowhere, a brick wall would be be a more viable option.

Only if you count a level 21 I've not logged in for over a year as a main

In fact i solo an armsman and don't actually add on 1v1 fights (or 8v8s for that matter if I see them in agramon) unless people look like they want help (e.g. random low RR caster running out of beno getting mugged by a RR12 stealther - I don't count the sorcs that orbit beno here) or ask for it via /y or whatever....

However there's a big difference between respecting people's fights and bitching to high heaven when people don't play the way you think they should.

Heck I think everyone should play crossbow spec armsmen in RvR but omg! noone does! don't see me whining on FH every day about how I was unfairly added on by someone's spellcasting class or how that other armsman was being dishonourable and using a polearm.

(actually I don't - I quite like being unique but there's a point there )

its just the sheer frustration most times that make people say bad things...

like 10 minutes later its all forgotten...

problem is lots of people gone from the game because daoc is becoming akin to like a constant dose of frustration whenever you play.

So although you might be random adding in good spirit for the realm, ultimately the game suffers....

btw this kind of innocent nice guy random adder thing... there are a few people that fit this like mythical persona (like maybe a handfull on server).. they are nice people and they play to kill regardless.... but on the whole most random adders are just c%^ts tbh.

Then again theres the ying and yang argument because a lot of times you like see some random mage that likes to gun you down mid fight and like you dont even have to question your morals when you see him in combat, its just whame bame "remeber me" doink. Also I like to think the complete assholes out there that take pride in it (the panosbobs, doctormezzes, arumi's, netcodes etc of daoc) all get earmarked as assholes, theres a little bit of a consolation factor with that...

your right its just a game, but its a highly competative one.... all the sparks, rows and flaming are due to the fact that peeps are pasionate about the game, this adds some spice to it all as well.

in the end ppl play how they want to, some want to add and some don't. don't think any whine big or small is gonna change that, so really is quite useless to whine...

like I yelled it before and ended up dying to my opponent, but like the thing your realm mates dont comprehend is that like A LOT of players would prefer dying in a good tear up, than having this excitement ended in its prime in a completly meanless manner.

If that makes me leetist then I guess I must be... (it aint true though im like the least leetest player you will ever meet)

In a game where the object is to kill enemies in a open free for all environment theres always going to be like this shit going on... No one wears a halo in this game we all shafted people in ways that could be called unfair... the thing is theres like a vague level of respectability thats isnt too hard to achieve to avoid getting "tagged" as an asshole, and that vague level caters for all play styles. The people that get a FH grilling almost certainly deserve it, because they consciously stick their finger up to this concept in favour of gaining the RP virtual number counter. its even more insulting when they try and dress this up in the guise of "its mass RVR meight". No ones asking for people not to kill them just maybe for the enjoyment of both sides let peeps finish their fight or summin (that goes out to those oh so lovely FG players that like steamrollering stealthers and /rofl spamming)

Funny that, could say the same about many of the non-adders. Depends in whose shoes you're standing. About the frustration thing, I actually understand that. Believe it or not I've run many times with fg'ers or solo and I know it can be frustrating to have a really nice even fight hit on. But this is the thing. Whereas when some fg'ers add they either have some reason or put it down to an accident, whenever someone else does it some of them feel the urge to hurl abuse - regardless of whether the *adders* did it by accident or to purposely piss them off (fact is they don't know why that person did it). So there's a level of hypocrasy there that is unacceptable, and this is compounded when the fg'ers happily take out soloers/duos/random pugs yet try and justify it with some pretty pitiful reasoning. Bottom line is this IS a game and there really is no need to bitch at/belittle people over it.

The sparks fly because people have got the game out of perspective. Not to mention the fact they are gobbing off at people from behind their pc screens in a manner which, if they did it face to face, would more than likely end up with them having a fat lip. Having said that, I personally quite enjoy the *spice* - it makes killing certain players even funnier as well as getting some good banter going with players from the same realm. Some of the pms that spring up when I've *added* have me in stitches

One final point. If someone yells at me "don't add n00b!" (often before I've even got close to their fight), take a wild guess what I'm doing to do either then or next time I see them fighting

Just a little sidenote - dunno if its been said before as I havent read whole thread.

Imo ppl should never swear or shout in any way of other ppl adding. Its just utterly retarded. Me too can get annoyed by other ppl "ruining" nice fg v fg fights but i've never resorted to yell at ppl and I would flame ppl in my group instantly if they did so.

Why is that? Cause not all play by same principles and no-one should dictate how other ppl play. On top of this often its less than fg's that does the adding and nonetheless will the optimized fg's steamroll these small groups in sight without any bad feelings. I do that as well but I damn well dont blame them for adding on us after if so.

A while ago I ran with a high rr group with excal+prydwen ppl. Was a nice run and we killed alot of enemies including a 4 man hib group 3-4 times. Eventually we got into a fgvfg fight and got added upon by the hibs. We lost and one guy from the group starting swearing all over the place about the fcin adders always ruin their fights. That made me sick and I mentioned that we did infact steamroll them on several occasions prior to this - "well they just suck", or something similar iirc, was his answer. I regret this day I didnt left the group that very second.

We'll never agree on public ruleset. The set fg's who would like to respect eachothers fg fights, well do so. Our group does that. Other than that, there is no rules - just wont ever work.

people should do /rpfilter adding cnut (or whatever) to hail brother! i offer my thanks for helping thwart the evil enemy attack! that way they can carry on pretending they are "helping the realm" or whatever they do when they ruin other peoples fun
