Would it be fun if keep lords......

Would it be fun if keep lords were more connected to their realm rather than all using bows and shooting peeps.

For instance:-

Midgard keep lords - melee realm, uses a big hammer or something and does huge melee damage while perhaps having lower defense.

Albion keep lords - defense realm, wearing plate armour and using a large shield so is hard to hit and but with less damage output.

Hibernian keep lords - magical realm, luri mage pbaoes everyone before they even get to the top of the stairs.

I think this would be an interesting addition and totally fair too please feel free to comment or tell me to *#$!@ *?` ..

Midgard - easy
Albion - hard (that Lord gonna survive for ages)
Hibernia - Impossible (lvl60+ PBAoE ?!!?!?)

If I recall it right, my Skald hit Flamen Vakten at lvl38 ... but that was sometime in May or June (or even earlier ?). When I think of all those solo invaders running around in Odin's/Yggdra all day long in those days ... <sigh>

I want the expers back in Yggdra ... atleast hunting Albs/Hibs wasn't that pointless then.

Edit : And I surely wasn't the first sub-50 FV ... there weren't that many 50ies around

Yep, simple reason ... leveled to 50 only after Epic armor was in the game (46 for 2 or 3 month), was leveling my Shadowblade, and had to get WeapCraft maxed ... and lots of money farming.
Btw, it's my SB that got Elding Vakten, not my Skald
I'm not really that power-exper/RP-Farmer ... a few good fights (1o1) are more fun than alot of zerg-mass-killing to me, just less RPs in the long run.

What we need is a lvl100 mentalist to go and tame the dragon... and then we fly around emain and ratatatatata every single thing that dares to come out of the pks..... now that would be fun, what does this have to do with keep lords? Much as I hate to say it, I cant wait to see the Hibs laughing on the other side of their faces when the Mid Spiritmasters get their PBAoE , which will be more powerful than anything the Hibs can produce.

Of course, Albion will be totally buggered, but hey..the Hibs have been smug for long enough

Apologies if I've misunderstood what you were saying, Szleynix.

I am particularly sensitive to being accused of cheating when defending a keep from the top of a gatehouse, or an archer post, and I naturally assumed, seeing as the thread was about the Lord using their realm-mates tactics, that you were having a go....

But is it only Alb lords that are bugged?

Um the roof bug doesn't stop you taking the keep, and it happens to all lords, but only in albion keeps.

There is 1 alb lord, sorry can't remember which.

After knocking down the doors, you start on the bowmen. There is 1 bowman u can't, you just get a "You can't see your target" msg.

When u get to the Lord room, on occasions you get the same msg with the Lord. In fact spells don't even work. In this situation ppl have had to climb onto the roof, some 50yrds distance (vertical) to hit the Lord.

It's a stupid bug that prevents you from taking out the lord. When on the roof you still get hit by the Lord, in fact ppl have died.

As an Alb, i can't see you experiencing this problem against an Alb lord at an Alb keep

No, but we DO experience it against hib or mid lords when we have to retake our keeps... and that is not very infrequent...

considering us mids/hibs use alb keeps as RvR practise, I imagine it happens quite a lot.... maybe if the doors we'rent made of papermache we would leave them alone..... but, hey, it means my axe doesn't get worn down

Would be much more fun if it was possible to take a keep solo ..

well seen in the real darkages, if the controlling horde had left the keep and left no defence (NPCs - BAAH ... nerf them) it would be rather easy to take..

if a lonely knight passed by an empty keep he could take it by himself, if he could smash down the door.

Why have NPC-Guards .. why should a keep have defence enough to keep 5+ men out for rather high amount of time, when the realm-owners dont bother defend it ...

Sure it would be boring sitting in DC for several hours with noone coming by, but then you can choose to leave it undefended, or make it possible to buy guards if a guild has claimed the keep..

if noone claims it, its not a realmkeep and just because mids was there last, doesnt mean its theirs, a middie-guild as to claim it...

Facts of my suggestion:
--None-claimed keeps--
No keeplord
No guards
level 1 doors
No controling realm

--Claimed keeps--
No keeplord
Guards can be bought - better guard = higher price
Doors can be upgraded
Controlled by the realm which the guild that claims it belongs too

Then it would take atleast 8 people to take a keep - if the realm wants it, or you could make some serious ambushes if you dont claim a keep and wait for the enemy to turn out and claim it...
They cant see you are there if you havent claimed it...

see the point ?
