Go back a few days and read my posts, we are in total agreement that this formation would never beat Germany. No real width, no pace in the channels and no strength to hold the ball up front. It should have been an attacking 4-5-1 with Cole on the left and SWP on the right, squeeze the middle and work the wings. It is football 101 but we can't even fucking defend even though we have a 'brilliant' defensive coach in Pearce?

central defenders - all have been slow, badly positioned and rubbish

gerrard - awful decision making on a number of occasions in this match

barry - dispossed too easily, leading to counterattacks in the last 2 games (which a more clinical germany have made more of than Slv)

rooney - a passenger throughout the entire tournament.
