I would go with Crouch purely because most defenses don't know how to play him, they spend more time concentrating on him than they should and that leaves gaps for Rooney.
Problem is the rest of the team get lazy and lump balls up to him all game. All very well having him on as a great decoy, but players often opt for the easy option. Spurs tend to do it when they play him as well.
How can all round centre forward play be "top notch" if he can't score?
Gerrard does all those things better than Heskey, play him as second striker already!
Wow - Englands performance starts to look better in comparison to some of the dross of the last few days - I'm starting to think the ball has screwed scoring from any range too which is a shame.
If you watch he'll often fall back into midfield whilst an attacking midfielder takes his place.
No, he really doesn't. Pretty sure we'll see Gerrard on the left of midfield joining the attack, and Heskey could well rotate to the left wing or into midfield. Changing positions is the way to go.
And I still don't think England played that badly the other day, I do think there are ridiculous expectations of England. Sure, if people think that they're capable of winning the World Cup it wasn't a good performance. But we're not and it was![]()
The discussion should be about which wingers play in a 433/451, not about which shit striker should partner Rooney. Nobody will be winning anything with a 2 man midfield.
Heskey in midfield LOL!
And yet he does :S If you watch he'll often fall back into midfield whilst an attacking midfielder takes his place.
Gerrard does all those things better than Heskey, play him as second striker already!
Please take the Villa glasses off for the World Cup, Heskey used to do a job for England, but that was when he was faster and could turn occasionally. He's past it now and only playing because Zamora is injured.
Do you not think that playing a 4-3-3 /4-5-1 would suit the players we have better?
Can we all laugh at the cheating french bastards plshahahahahahaha
