After the extremely poor defence of Nottmoor to the Hibs a few minutes ago (mentioned in rvr forum) I wonder just how many Mids are gonna be here on the 25th March when we get catacombs?

Mids seem disorganised with no strong personalities to take any sort of control and when anyone does mids dont seem to listen - I dunno if its just me but has the heart gone from Midgard because atm hibs seem relentless - they can virtually defend or attack what they want whenever they want.

I tend to agree with Trollums post on rvr section about the server population decreasing even when catacombs is released, so where do we go now? Server clustering (for RvR) maybe the only way to get any decent rvr in midgard and even tho some are against it does anyone have any other ideas how to save midgard because i really cant see any way forward for us atm.

Personally Ive never been a big uber RvR leet d00d and spend prolly half of my time pve'ing but love to go out and RvR some but it seems whenever i do we get our asses handed to us on a "green" plate lol

I miss OF big time :(

Am i just depressed after a bad wipe at Nott or being realistic - you decide lol

Am I the last person on the server to realise our beloved Midgard is dying lol

/a depressed disheartened Mid :(

What you say is fully true, its not just WoW that is killing us its the likes of exams. But at the end of the day Real Life comes first....

Start building groups, do guild/alliance events etc etc.

There are tons of ways to get ppl out to RvR. Start with your own guild then move on to your alliance.

Mids work this way. If they see a mid tower and a alb/hib burning keep near that tower they will come there.

Start with 1-2fg from your guild/alliance and build it from there.

I have done so a couple of times and in the end there has always been 30+ mids out. You dont have to win every time. First step is to get ppl out. Then start organising things.

check cat, try new class and how it change rvr to mids.

mids are indeed lacking leadership atm + solo mentality? is hitting realm quite hard, personally self allso doing that.

hot it goes in cat and future for midgard? depends all who play atm midgard.
i am littlebit afraid how warlock class gona be after 2 month, when catacomb is launched US and EU servers.
albs and hibs got new classes too, dont forget this, hibs 2 strong, mids 1 and albs situationally strong class.

dunno if we did poor nottmoore? just was sad when ~100 lvl 50 online and ~20 odin, how many of these 20 in nottmoore? different story.

Sadly i have to agree with your findings Blue, and im sure im not the only one.
But I for one will be here for Catacombs and long after that, and my only hope is that most of the friends we lost over the last months will rejoin us for some old fashion DAoC fun

Until we get a good class for defending keeps with nobody will bother helping to defend as it is boring and useless if we are outnumbered. Even with an rc runie you are still screwed against hibs as you will be stunned and then killed before you get your second bolt off. (I have some experience with that ;) )

Secondly leadership is not really a problem. ALL the good leaders in the past I have ever seen are leading a GOOD BALANCED FULL GROUP. I just don't see this anymore. With all the teleporting around there is no place to wait to find a random group. And this leads to people being told to run to the keep they are meant to be defending solo. In OF, remind me, how many times did you attempted to run to Renaris with 100+ albs attacking it?

Mid classes are very dependent on being in a balanced group. With the drop in population we have lost virtually all the regular groups and so we can't seem to do anything.

U cant be more wrong. All those leaders was leading 1 FG what was taking all maindamage and made all interrupts while "randmos" was leeching RPs. Now randoms still go out hoping to "kill" something. Sadly there is noone to leech from . Sad, but true :(

And ontopic: I wont be there. Instead of fun i got frustrated all the times i logged in lately - dont see point whay should it continue :)

Those that are here now will mostly stay i reckon those that didn't wanted to or was just here until WoW was released are gone allready .... Some ppl will after trying out WoW return others will not .. rules of the game ... the game that prevides u with the most intertainment gets ur attention .. and then ofc little matters like friends etc .. might have a tiny bit to say aswell :)

I've quit several times... Its tough ;)

I recently renewed because I kinda missed it, only to find that there was hardly anyone left on Prydwen i know. And the generel population is so poor that its no fun whatsoever anymore.

Today i bought WOW, lets see if thats gonna keep me away.

I tried it for a days playtime or so, and so far I like it - so Im gonna stick with that instead of DAoC, Im afraid of. Besides, most people I know went there, including my brother and more or less all the guilds I ever played with.

To address a few points mentioned above:

I also have my copies of catacombs on order and am lookin forward to it and yes ill prolly make a warlock just because i think the class looks like a lot of fun and is a fresh new caster variant :)

I think its imperative we have a meeting spot like old frontiers SF or MPKE and see no reason why we cant make it the NF Svasud - as someone said above the portal stone seems like the obvious choice so lets do it imo :)

I think this is much better than running solo to bled to add on any fight u can see - make groups first and then run - surely is the best thing to do?

Where are all the pac healers btw ? Healers mostly seem to be aug atm but for the life of me i cant work out why - Ive not seen many ZzZzZzZ above enemies heads for a while - I quite miss it lol. Also I see a lot less pac healers signing up to my Dragon Raids. I used to get like 1-2 aug healer applications and anything between 5-15 pac healers so mebbe thats another indication that either 1) there are less healers or 2) lots respecced to aug. Whatever the reason without decent CC in RvR we are pretty shafted.

Midgard has all the tools necessary but we dont seem to have enough cohesion and unity to make stuff happen atm - lets move onwards and upwards and get more groups running again. Ok we all miss OF but OF are gone and wont be seen again on Prydwen so as the hibbies seem to say a lot - we need to adapt BUT we still need the basics like CC and co-ordinated (semi-opted if possible) grps.

/just another tuppence from me :)

In Bulle at the moment, all the real RvR guys are either:

A) Playing WoW
B) Quit daoc for RL stuff, or simply too tired of playing midgard in daoc...

Everytime I login people are pretty much doing their own business (either solo or in small groups of 4-6), and not really caring much for the state of RvR. Some farm, some do prequests for a ML-raid, some craft in their houses... and that is pretty much it. Those who dare to enter the empty midgard frontier are either a stealther-class soloing, buffbot afking, or insane enought to run about bled to be wiped...

I surely miss the old Emain where everyone soon find a nice fg RvR group to join... The New Frontiers are just too big for a little server as Prydween. I for sure are tired of running about and knock down keep/tower doors, when noone is capable of defending it anyway afterwards. I've been running about like that a 20ish times with a fg that really just sucks in defending a tower when 20hibs/albs comes to take it back. It just feels pointless to have spent the last 1-2 hours on a suicide mission anyway.

Finding right classes for a uber rvr group today just seems impossible when nobody really care about the RvR. Before it was easy to find the right classes for a good setup, and most was RR4+ ppl atleast.

Well, I've done a total of 4mill RP together on all my toons, and I might move on to WoW to try it as I miss the old friends in my guild that I usually could do exciting RvR or PvE together with.

I actually rewrote the message above, as it was a bit unfair agaist some of the Bulle guys (like Grymligast, Lecturina, Dilanta etc) that are still trying their best to keep it rolling...

But I got a nice message stating:
vBulletin Message

So.. I don't care to spend another 15mins on rewriting it. :)

Basicly, what I state in the end was that most of my old RvR friends that I loved playing daoc with is playing WoW now. And I might just do the same...

Also, that it was easier in the old frontier to join in groups when you have a family with wife+kids and are limited to which times you can play daoc. Today, I can use hours to try to get a rvr group together... And then not even with the best setup at all - meaning losing when we hit a strong alb/hib fullgroup directly. - Before, all I had to do was just say "hi" in ventrilo, and I got grouped right away as soon as one left the full rvr group...

Stay here, hope for the best, and think about what to do in july when my subsrciption runs out. Hopefully the servers have been clustered by then, or we get some possibillity to move our chars to Avalon / Mid or another higher populated mid server.

We have some ppl playing wow, we have ppl that are already tired of it, approx 6 are playing and 6 already went back, so it is hard to say what will happend.

I like the new frontiers very much, but it is sad to see that ppl find it more funny to run from mpk via mmg to apk for 4 hours in one evening, than to make battles in the realm war, take strategic places, hold towers and keeps etc. and get some bonuses we did not get in the old frontier.

Have faith Elen, clustering will come must come ... :)

I am quite hopeful GOA will realize this to ! The serverclustring patch came one month after the introduction to catacombs in US. So if the rvrsituation continues to deteriorate (although it was good this weekend) I think we will have pryd clustered with excal before the end of may !!! :)

Oh crap, I get depressed when I see ppl like Magnar thinking about leaving daoc.... :( Hang in there everyone!!

Perhaps everyone could gather at Svasud at a given time every day (say 19.00 CET) in Svasud and gather a zerg and then zerg about?

The problem is that we probably would get zerged by an even larger Al/hibzerg in notime :)

I am defenately going to check Catacombs out m8. I'm playing WoW most of the time now, and don't even got much time to play EQ2 not to mention Camelot - however when Catacombs is available, I'm going to organize more time to Camelot again.

Ive been trying to get this to happen for a while - we NEED a known gathering spot for us to meet and make our groups - mebbe not even a specific time etc but jsut somewhere like in old frontiers when we gathered at Svasud or MPKe where we know there will be other mids to group up with and cause some havoc :)
