Will anybody still be here for Catacombs?

In Bulle at the moment, all the real RvR guys are either:

A) Playing WoW
B) Quit daoc for RL stuff, or simply too tired of playing midgard in daoc...

To good I'm not one of the real RvR guys then.

Since I've only been playing DAoC for about 17 months, I'm not nearly tired of it yet. Didn't really play any serious RvR before NF either, since my laptop didn't want me to make it uphills on stick. Döh. But since late november last year, I've been trying to become a real RvR chic! Hail to new, nice and fast computers.

I've only tried WoW out for like six-seven levels and didn't find it appealing in any way.

So yes - I'm going for catacombs, and sticking with DAoC as long as there is still someone - anyone to fraternize with ingame.

Ps. I know you refrased yourself in a later post Magnar, but just had to post anyway.

Still not got ToA so not a lot of motivation to log on Roo for the moment. Hopefully will have ToA fairly soon as I ordered it from Play but there was a prob (which was my fault actually).

I'll still be around for Catacombs, very much casual mode these days though.

Still its nice to see you tho Roo when u can logon m8 - You are just one of those "personalities" - a natural sheperd if you like, that ppl listen to and follow not that im saying everyone else is a sheep ofc but you know what I mean

That first afternoon you came back you "sheperded" us all very well - better than ive seen in a long time tbh and we took Nott and the towers i think and it was a blast - its those times that most ppl love about DAoC

Oh and when you get catacombs im sure there will be a VERY long list of ppl offering help etc so just shout out when you need arti's/ml's/farming etc

Roo with the way you play you could walk thru the frontier naked singing about having a kipper as your best friend and you will still get ppl to follow you - thats just who you are and how ppl respect you - like it or loath it i think its a cross you have to bare hehe

As I said above if you need help with ml's or anything else just shout m8 and altho many ppl have left there will still be a mile long queue to help out

For each trial the seal of DaoC burns deeper into my hart.
First i tried EQ2, i cant say i liked it, then i tryed wow.
WoW is a better game, alot of new interface function, the auction house and the crafting is more fun. Ofcourse that is my opinion, not youres.
But then again. . .
I missed my old world. the Daoc Grafics, the sounds, the classes.

Wouldn't bet money on it. The start in a new game is always harder than procceding in one where you already got a character established.
No money, no clue, no 'name', that's what you face in a new game. If one doesn't overcome that time, people return to their old game.
Personally I'd say they miss out on alot of WoW, there's just so many little details, places to discover and who knows what else in the game that make it even more fun when you found them
Think my DAoC account was active for ~2 weeks more, only logged in once to collect the money from my CM

I will be here after Catacombs, my two copies are already ordered. Probably still in Midgard, even if in the meantime I'm working on my Hib toons too, should Prydwen collapse completely (quite likely, considering GoA grasp of the situation). I don't count on WoW people to return en masse - some will, some will go back to WoW as soon as a new patch or a new expansion will be published, I think we'll have a zero balance for a bit with WoW, and lose players with the normal rate, gaining a bit with Catacombs and summer, then losing again unless Mythic will be able to get more good expansions as Catacombs.

I guess it's me, but I've still to experience a good night RvR play in the NF with the action you refered to above. Maybe if they clustered the Excalibur+Prydwen servers we would get that kind of high action in the frontier, with strategic tower+keep fights all over. That would absolutely rock! A thousand man army attacking against another thousand man defending on different keeps, towers and strategic siege usage.

Sadly, today I feel the NF is more like a 1fg mids running with a battle ram to take a tower as quick as possible, - later to be wiped by 2-3fgs enemies while alone trying to defend their conquest. :eek2:
