as far as im aware u cant log two realms on 1pc, and i dont have another pc to play daoc on lal, who actually buys a 2nd pc to play daoc on as a bb?

I ofc think its ok to learn to play in other realms than 1, but not on the same server. I know of peeps who had account on both pryd and exc, but i honestly think 1 of them shut had been removed to another server when they made dyvet.

IF I played C & C or anything els like that.. I certanly wouldnt play 1 player with my right hand while playing the enimie with my left hand

All the endless QQ'ing killed this server. A whine comes in many forms, wether its splattered out in countless threads on this forums, raged towards individuals/guilds/alliances in pm's/chatrooms etc or the frigging IRC.
At some point the whining goes over to a rumour that pps actually starts to belive in. The grass is greener on the other side jada jada jada...If enough pps says it, it must be true.
Propaganda works best when someone known starts the whole thing, or prefere lots of them, who cares what a pointless noob says anyways eh? This server went form playable to disaster long before AC raiding, the AC raids was just the last drop for a small chunk of the community.
Before u blame this and that, start by looking at how U act when something is bothering u/pisses u off ingame. Whats your first response wether its agains a veteran or a newbie. Most of u will get an eyeopener and some just dont care.

Repped. That's absolutely the truth and sometimes you get the feeling that some people play just to whine.

Imho people are getting more and more unfriendly nowadays, but I guess it's not just out of nowhere. I only played DAoC in Hibernia during SI and the start of ToA, but imho these two addons - and especially the latter - brought out the worst in people. Only a few people were able to get stuff from Galladoria or some ML dungeon, so the egomaniacs started to triumph and people got pissed off by that. People can be so self-centered and I don't really like that. Rolling drops was never about who needs what, it was always about who got most cash out of something. The problem got fixed a bit with Cata and LotM, but it was too late then, cause people were long gone.
Now the problem is, that there are only two english servers, meaning that even with a cluster, only a small portion of the original population is left and thus the downward spiral is more than hard to stop - not to say impossible.

I play on german servers aswell now and even though the game is the same and there are idiots everywhere, the larger population makes it easier to find other people to play with. As a little example: I started from scratch on Temair and the first day I played there, I found a good old level group. Now you might say that XP sux and I tend to agree, but at least there was some social level and with all the cool spots and XP bonuses nowadays, you don't need to start a battle for 8 fins spots or something like that.
The german servers also have the numbers to run big raids and thanks to the new systems, ToA can be done quite easily and thanks to easy encounters with much less ego-power aswell.

If Dyvet had higher numbers for at least 2-3 months, the situation would go much better again I think...sadly this won't be the case.

For me what killed the server is a combination of several things.

1: AC raids. I think that the fact that you woke up to a new exiting day without any relics and some albs saying "Dont blame us, blame CM". I didnt blame albs in general but it still sucked.

2: Players. DAoC europe had to many players who are self centered. No will to help others. Talking trash to everyone. Being leet to make up for a lost childhood or whatever

3: Game development. For me the game has developed from being a MMORPG that was very deep to be very shallow. Today when you decide to start a new character you go 2 days in poc, 1 day in toa for artis and your done. Off to RvR. So the game is really all about RvR which IS the most fun part in daoc and is what keeps the game alive, but for most people it just isnt enough.


Overall i dont think you can point at one thing and say that killed the cluster but i think that there have been alot of things that each contributed to the death of cluster. Personally.. Custodia delivered the deathblow for me. I just got sick and tired of the constant AC, flaming and whining over a few months..

Server died when agramon died

Every player now apart from the true soloers plays for the holy rp. At the moment id rather have my charecters all on the US PvE server, they have more chance of seeing some decent RvR action than dyvet. Sickening that GOA are going to get away with lieing and taking players cash under false pretenses that the server would improve.

Regret trying to still make somthing of the game when the competition went away.

DAoC is a massive time sink, arranging groups during the day, have to play 3+ hours in the evening and wait on people. Solo is dull as you get zerged by the piss poor players that have spent 5 years at a tower. Just too much hard work for little return fun wise nowadays.

Best to just leave the people who are happy with the way to server is to it, at the end of the day they are wasting their time, shouldnt let them waste yours. Add up the time you spend on DAoC per week and think what else you could do with that time I dont miss te game at all. Dont regret playing had some good times and some crap times.....but i dont see any good times happening again for this game/server for anyone whos not into PvE or F8 zerging.

Though i would like to see a real explanation from GOA, people need to know that they are freely willing to post outright lies with the sole purpose of extending peoples subs and making more money out of it, if i cared enough i would probably try and find out if they have broken any laws..trading standards? i dunno, not THAT fussed ;p
Maybe people should make the magazines aware so they can take the type of publisher we are stuck with in the EU into consideration when reviewing warhammer.

All the stuff about X realming ruining the server is bollocks imo.

As brite said, i think the server died when the busy agramon rvr died. People rerolled to avalon/US and things slowly got quieter and worse. Now the people who grief/AC have a far bigger impact on dyvet. Their actions further decrease the population, which in turn makes what they do even more noticeable. Vicious cycle i think

If you play on avalon for example, the zerging is fucking unbelievable- yet people play it because there's such a large population anyway that it doesnt really matter.

The only way for things to improve (imo) would be for the people who rerolled avalon/termair/US to come back, to return a competetive fg scene to dyvet. But we may as well just wait for WAR

CM, ppl like them and especially D@n.dk.. They AC, zerg and add, which is the root of all evil in a game like this! It makes people leave the server which is atm our biggest problem
