It's fucking scandalous that Russia can use a veto power at the UN Security Council to strike down a resolution which condemns them.
The west does it all the time.

The US uses it to protect Israel from sanction time and again. On 186-2 votes - where the 2 are the US and the dependent states the US Marshsll Islands.

Why do you think Cuba is still under embargo?

That video I posted ages ago of the changing map? Still accurate... the whole shitshow is idiotic bullshit - on both (all) sides.

"Putin has an estimated networth of $200billion" impressive for someone on a $120,000 salary. Corrupt tosspot, I hope they found out where he's stashing it and take the lot. He'll squeal like a pig if they take his treasure.
The problem is that the bulk of his assets aren't linked to him at all. The wealth of the oligarchs is his to use as well. That's how it works.

" Two Chinese state-owned banks will restrict financing for Russian commodity purchases in a sign that cracks may be emerging between Beijing and Moscow as the Kremlin faces harsh international sanctions. "

China is treading a delicate line on Ukraine because if Russia can recognise parts of Ukraine that 'wish to be independent' then why is Taiwan not due recognition.

Not that Xi will ultimately give a fuck. He's as much of an insecure small-cock as Putin.

I still think if push comes to shove China will absolutely throw Russia under the bus. Money is everything to China.

Nice, Kazakhstan told Russia where to stick it when asked for troops to help the invasion. Importantly, they also refused to recognise Russia's claim that they had a valid reason to invade in the first place. They know they're a future target if Russia decides it wants to start "taking back" ex-Soviet republics.

Er, no. A negotiation would suggest both parties have something to offer. Russia are asking for complete surrender or death. That is not negotiating.
Give me what I want or I kill you is a negotiation. Just one with a stacked hand.

The whole point of a negotiation is to leave both parties as satisfied as possible. "We will kick the shit out of you if you don't fold to our ridiculous demands" is not a negotiation.

Do this or die means one side gets the thing, the other side has a choice.

It's not fair - but fair is for the wishful of thinking.

Tanks are negotiation tools.

No, it's a threat... something you'd only resort to when negotiation has failed (or if you had no interest in ever actually honestly negotiating in the first place).

The trouble is, the more desperate they get, the less they care about civilian casualties, they are already firing unguided ordinance into civilian areas.

Edit, and now that the lines are blurred, where the civilian population is armed, Russia will do whatever they like.

That seems to have been the case from the start they havent given a shit about civilian casualties before why would they start now

Chinese banks are now limiting funds for Russian Oil and Gas... little by little China and Russia's relationship is crumbling over this.

Also

The European Space Agency has said it is ready to “take decisions” about its cooperation with Russia on space projects, in a new statement.

It's really not though.

China are just playing the fence sitting game until everything has blown over; if they openly supported Putin then they'd also be sanctioned.

Dictators sticking together is always going to be the case. (Unless they're US backed dictators that is)

I'm telling you China love their economic position too much to risk it over Russia. Putin loves military power, China loves Money.

Even Russian MPs are breaking ranks with the Kremlin now

"Mikhail Matveyev, a member of the State Duma, on Saturday called on the Kremlin to stop the invasion.

"By voting to recognise the independence of the Donetsk and Luhansk People's Republics I voted for peace, not a war. For Russia to become a shield for the Donbass, not for bombing Kyiv," he said."
