This vacancy has been placed with agencies, but I thought I'd post it here in case any Freddies are interested.

I'm looking for someone with good knowledge of the carrier business. By carrier I mean the likes of UPS, Fedex, etc.

A knowledge of Sql Server/Windows 2000 Server would be a definite advantage, but we will train good candidates. VB/VBA experience would be a plus.

My ideal candidate would be someone with a good knowledge of all things IT. Experience and aptitude are more important than formal qualifications. The candidate will be working at customer sites in the south of england, but will be based at home (we will provide ADSL/pay for telephone calls, etc).

In return we'll start you off on around £30k, give you a company car (basically any model on our list up to £20k), and BUPA.

Initially you would report to me, with a view to taking over my role when I move on to other things.

We are a multi-billion dollar company that have been around for almost 100 years. The working atmosphere is friendly, though like any business there are stress peaks (so no quitters please :))

Interested?

Please PM me.

Cheers

Big ooops, regarding the email!

I've asked Jupitus to remove it, as I can't edit the post now.

Interested parties just PM me and we'll sort out the email from there.

Cheers

What company is it? The Masons?

I'd rather keep the company name off public boards. I will of course reveal the name in any private correspondence.

Just to add a bit more info, based on emails I've received:

A driving license is essential.
This is a permanent position.
It's a real offer :)

This vacancy is still open.

We had two applicants from FH. One very good, the other didn't meet the pre-requisites.

The good chap we spoke to didn't take up the offer due to personal commitments, so I'm going to try one last time on FH before we blitz the Agencies (loathe though I am to pay their finders fees).

I am going on holiday on June 18th for two weeks, so if anyone is interested let me know before then so I can arrange a meeting for either next week, or after I return.

Ideally any applicants would live within the Home Counties/Thames Valley area, though we don't mind if they live further out (they will have to drive to where the customers are concentrated though).

btw Knowledge of the carrier business has been dropped as a pre-requisite!

PM me if interested.

I am also looking for a customer support representative. I need someone who is professional, a good time-keeper, ideally with some knowledge of financial markets. I'll happily send more info to anyone who PMs me for details. It's London based and involves shifts, I should add. Ta.

Sadly I was an 'old geezer' long before I ever joined Barrysworld!

However I am comforted by the fact that I'm not the only one on these boards who suddenly finds Remington's Nasal & Ear hair trimmers appealing.

;)

Home Counties/Thames Valley isn't very specific.

The job actually covers all of the UK South of Birmingham, though our customers (of this product anyway) are mainly concentrated in London, the Home Counties and the Thames Valley Corridor.

As to where the job is based... it's a field (i.e home) based role (I suspect this is what ArrrImmaPir8! meant :)).

We have a team that covers from Birmingham up to Scotland, and another covers Scotland.

Any more questions, please feel free to PM.

The working atmosphere is friendly

Working from home you say, you've obviously not met my oddball family :eek6:

Anyway after a week of incompetent carriers good luck finding someone with at least 1 whole braincell :D

Bump.

I have some candidates coming through for interviews now so I'm interested in hearing from bright, professional, enthusiastic people looking for 1st line support work in London. Shifts involved on a 4 week rotation, covering 7am til 8pm only, and some knowledge of financial markets would be good as would knowledge of a European language on top of English. Fair salary dependant on age/experience etc etc... drop me a PM if interested.
