Let's not forget that Trump did lots of very fucked up things *after* the election which I think would have decreased his popularity even further.

Actually reading a tRump reddit it seems many of the supporters lost faith in him after calling the election a fraud and then went off the rails after the failed coup. Many chose him for his policy, not him.

Be interesting to see how the country swings at the next round of elections. Hopefully they can kill the GOP.

That's the thing, trump had the support of the GOP, and I suspect most of his popular support was due to 'I vote GOP regardless of the candidate'.

This won't kill the GOP they'll be able to laugh it off and make sure nothing like Trump happens again.

I think that when Biden gets in and does fuck all to fix the structural issues you leave America open to worse than Trump. Maybe not next time around, but soon. (Depending on how they "fix" the social media, and therefore how people think).

I've already stated no honeymoon from me - the Dems have a lot to answer for. I'm 100% happier that Trump's gone - but Obama had a magical sheen for his presidency and accomplished fuck all.

I really disliked the recent scenes at the Capitol (and the last four years of the Trump presidency). Absolutely the Dems need holding to account from Day 1. They need to be perfect IMO. And they need to bring real results.
