I'm actually flabbergasted by Trump's response to these bombs.

Hes not an invented character, quite simply his posh name wouldnt go down well..though I think that was a typical simplification of the working class.
Farage is unashamedly posh, but even white van man, knuckle draggers love him.

I think he could have kept his name, and tbh needs to drop the tommy, to have any credibility now hes getting a wider audience.

Its easy to say 'hes a tosser' because, that gives you a bad man for simplistic liberal views.
Hes a symptom of the political climate, millions of open followers, millions quietly agreeing with his outbursts.

Now hes got an American audience, and hes an articulate martyr, especially when he stops his working class demeanour.

Dangerous times.

He's not a symptom of the political climate - people like him exist and have always existed. The fact that he's getting air time is a symptom of the political (and, more importantly, desparately unfair economic climate - where the uneducated turn to flag waving asshats like him because they think that he's got a solution to their problems (he hasn't - he'd just compound them)).

It's easy to say "he's a tosser" - because he is. And people like him are. History has proven this. Only the uneducated haven't learned that lesson, which is why right-wing asshat voting is massively overrpresented amongst the thick.

(Not saying only the thick vote right wing, but that's what overrepresented means, just so you don't take a black-and-white view of what I just said).

What bomber @Job? Why do you always assume that people have a fucking clue what you waffle on about?

For the billionth time: Provide links. Stop expecting people to go searching for you. I daresay it's a front page story, but expecting people to go hunt for news sites is just lazy.

Well to give Job the benefit of the doubt here...how many bombs have been reported this week in our news for the US?

I can't believe I'm defending Job but you know sometimes a link really isn't necessary .
Most of his posts do but not this one.

I haven't read the news this week at all. I've got a new job. I've been too fucking busy.

It's not been a topic of conversation. Not heard a thing about it.

Really?? You don't even watch the news on tv or have the radio on while getting dressed in the morning?

I can't think of anything worse tbh. Fucking news in the morning? Telly in the morning??!

I get up, showered, dressed and out in about 25 minutes. Listen to an audiobook on the way to work. Do a job. Come home. We'll listen to music. I may play a game whilst the missus cooks. We might watch an episode of something whilst we eat. Something pirated most likely as we don't plug the aerial in or subscribe to any tv services. May watch iplayer or login to our friends Netflix account, but that's about it for telly. Read a bit. Bed. Rinse - repeat.

If I do read the news it's when I'm on the shitter at work. But been too busy this week.

That's a choice to do other things rather than catch up with the news. Seems you have plenty of opportunity but choose not to.

I keep informed on major events and tend to read news via the interwebs at weekends. But the day to day shite is just that - news is mostly a gossip service and 99% of it isn't newsworthy.

Take the Brexit negotiations. It's absolutely nothing newsworthy. It's simply gossip. The major news points are NI border, the fact that EU citizens still don't know where they stand and that nothing at all has been agreed. That was it in one sentence but there's literally millions of hours of "news" about it.

It's nearly all opinion pieces and gossip. Doesn't take long to catch up on actually newsworthy stuff.

Dem snowflakes seem powerful. Is that why you fear them?

I wouldn't put it beyond the realms of possibility that he doesn't know how umbrellas work.

The Constitution is the most important thing to Americans, especially ring wing Americans.*

*Unless it doesn't suit their political agenda.

Trump vows to end birthright citizenship

And yet if he offered to use his powers to curb the 2nd Amendment the same people now shrieking like demented wombats would be hailing him and the Second Coming. Both sides can be pretty flexible around the Constitution when they want to be.

Still, keep following that laser pointer.

Thing is that the snowflake New Yorkers don't hold the Constitution on such a pedestal; in fact, I think even if he did do what he's suggesting there wouldn't actually be that much of an uproar.

However if he threatened to curb the 2nd Amendment then there'd be civil war.
