Actually on recent form the Republicans try to push for Constitutional Amendments more than the Dems. There have been nearly twelve thousand attempts to amend the Constitution (and only 27 successful amendments) but the recent form book looks like:

Yes, but it could still be the democrats , Labour has huge influence in the UK without being in power.

Poor showing by the democrats against an unpopular president...who is also about a classically inapproriate as we have ever seen.
If the reps had a 'normal' guy up there, they would have been trounced.
Id say hed have to reel it in a bit now.
