still making me lol that NK were angry that the US and South Korea were doing military exercises near their territory and the US pulled out because NK said mean things about Pence.

lol.

We were having a conversation about the word intolerance and I used that in an example with @Gwadien. The fact that you support the immigrant-averse Trump, the brexit campaign and Nigel-married-to-an-immigrant-Farage of the UKIPs is by the by. Maybe I hit a nerve tho? After all, you are from Stoke :)

I'm actually from Dundee, but as most of the rest of your post is incorrect I shouldn't be too shocked you got that wrong. I also think Farage is a divisive cock and don't really support Trump (just fascinated by Trump Derangement Syndrome).

Still 1 out of 4 ain't bad eh?

As for Trump pulling out talks with North Korea, it's a fairly standard negotiation tactic. Still he's managed to secure the release of US Prisoners, NK have just demolished their nuke testing site and NK and SK appear to be talking again. All without aidropping $100 million.

Not bad!

NORTH KOREA HAS ALWAYS WANTED TO MEET WITH THE US!!

:)

Interesting . So why didn't they do it when Obama was running things? They could have got some extra cash and everything.

Yeah I migrated to find better job opportunities. Makes it a bit difficult for me to be anti immigration.

Bit like how you don't live in Liverpool any more.

Because Obama wouldn't give Kim the prestige of a meeting without something meaningful in return. And I say this as someone who thinks Obama was shit at foreign policy. He just wasn't a total moron.

Here's Tony Swartz who actually wrote the at of the deal on why Trump can't negotiate:

Also, as regards getting the hostages free that means Kim has been rewarded for taking hostages (2 of the 3 were taken during Trump's administration not Obama's, Trump lied about that one). And then after giving Kim the green light that taking them releasing hostages gets him good press and world headlines Trump announced that he was pulling out of the NK talks without telling the press first who were still in NK. What an arsehole.

So someone takes hostages, and they're the good guy?

Wow, the Derangement is strong in this one.

How do you get that from what Wij posted? His point was the bad guy got a reward for taking hostages; which flies in the face of half a century of American foreign policy.

Because he has a world view and he constantly twists anything and everything, and outright ignores stuff he can't twist, to make things fit?

Apart from those 15 hostages Iran took a couple of years ago you mean?

I just find it incredibly bemusing how people can be so gleeful about the potential breakdown of negotiations to end a war that's been going on for 70 years. Negotiations that appear to have progressed, for whatever reason, much faster since the angry man on twitter has been involved.

But then the same people seem to be rubbing their hands with glee when negotiations with the EU hit a snag, so I'm not exactly shocked.

If finding that bemusing is the sign of a fucked up world view then I'll stay fucked up thanks, as enjoying failure of peace deals and negotiations that will determine the future of the country they live in, just to say "I told you so", does not sound normal to me in the slightest.

In fact it sounds....

Sad!

This? It was over 10 years ago and was the UK not USA. Ask Tony Blair about it :/

Freed British hostages leave Iran

No-one is gleeful. People said that Trump was approaching NK in the wrong manner, presented reasoned arguments and lessons from history to back it up and then were proved right. The 'I told you so' conversations afterwards do have an element of 'I like being right' about them but the fact that they were right isn't changed. They also function as a way of discussing what needs to change like Trump stopping being an idiot or people voting him out.

Brexit negotiations are the same. Anyone who isn't a fucking idiot said "there is no way the EU will ever give you a deal like that" and they were correct. Now they should at least get to enjoy the acknowledgement that they were correct. Should they still pretend they might be wrong so as not to hurt the feelings of morons?

Should they skirt around their feelings and say 'everyone was right in their own way'? I thought that was a libtard thing. I thought people had to man up and not expect safe spaces from opinions they don't like.

What's actually progressed? If anything thanks to John Bolton the NKs are probably further away from negotiations than ever.

Class attempt to torpedo the talks again, I do wonder if Trump selects even more incompetent people to surround him just so he looks better.

Or Trump is doing it intentionally to get Kim to react and then winds him back with behind the scenes threats and shows he's the bigger man.

Really not how any world leader would want to be pictured. Let alone a megalamaniac. I guess non of his subjects will ever hear about it though.

I cant imagine him going ahead with the meeting now tho

He'll go ahead because thats what he wants..hes shown he can play with the big boys and now wants a seat at the table...thats the way the world works...all the intellectuals spend years trying to be clever about it while in he real world its about strength.
Kim was worried he was going to be taken out..so he got his gun out and fired it in the air...everyone took notice and now the invites for 'talks' are posted.
He'll lay down what he wants...which of course is billions for his country or the nuclear race is back on.

Pulled what off, exactly? North Korea hasn't made any more serious of a pledge than the one they did in April with the South, if anything it's America making concessions to align more with North Korea's idea of denuclearisation.

Yep. If anything America has taught all the tinpot countries of the world that if they can get hold of a nuclear deterrant that the US will bend over backwards to accomodate them.

Queue dictators rushing for ICBMs and nukes, so they get taken seriously.

So..looks like they have actually pulled it off.
Aaannd Rodman has come out to slate Obama and praise the republicans..which is probably a pile if shit, but looks good in the papers.

www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2018/06/12/dennis-rodman-weeps-joy-summit-donald-trump-kim-jong-un/amp/
Great PR for Trump and KJU as long as the press plays along but the wording that has been agreed is nothing new at all. Really, do read this:

Denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula: Reviewing the Precedents

In fact while KJU has signed away nothing new at all Trump has promised no more 'War games' (I.E. Joint military exercises) between US and South Korea. A significant win for KJU.

The US stated yesterday that they would accept nothing less that complete, verifiable, irreversible denuclearisation of North Korea. They have got nowhere near that but are claiming it as a victory and the press is largely giving them the benefit of the doubt, despite Job's claims of massive bias against Trump.

Yadda, yadda, yadda, if Obama had done the same then it would have been very different, etc...
