Tribes 2 - Worth buying?

I managed to try out Tribes 2 using the bot mode, i was impressed although i'm not sure whether its worth the £26 just to play online.

Can somebody give me some reasons why to buy? I'm going into town soon so hurry up

I am on my way to get it. Tribes1 was a fantastic game, i have played it religiously for 1 1/2 years, and that didn't even have bot play. Tribes2 is a lot more of a full product, go and buy it now, it is a fantastic game. Anyway, cyall in about 2 hours when i have T2 (hopefully)

personal view

to be honest, i went to buy b&w and came out with this. had read that it was getting real popular, and realised that i had missed a comunity net gma esince q2... "bit of a gmable" i thought.. took it home, it installed amazingly.. in game interface is top, gfx, net code.. all runs so good for me... i llove it... never played t1.. but t2 is worth buyng in my books...

Reading d*strid3r's posting makes me feel all fuzzy inside!
Someone who has had NO influence from the original Tribes on which to base their purchasing decision. He bought the game because he "read that it was getting real popular".

Looks there's going to be a lot of newbloods on the servers in the near future and that is a good thing.

Erm, so you are playing it legally might be one

Ok imagine you are playing capture the flag, you get in the gravcycle. A bomber and shrike go over to take out the turrets and heavy flag defenders. You park your grav bike up against the building, run in a grab the flag. You come out but your grav bike is gone, 2 enimy shrikes come in off the side and you think bollox, but then there is hope, a friendly shrike comes in over head and starts shooting at the enimys and slows them, you do a diskjump and fly into the mountains, useing a healthkit to keep your health high.

one of the enimy shrikes comes over your head and there are 2 lights chaseing you. You hear and see chaingun fire zipping over your head, but one of your teammates is standing on the hill with a rocket launcher, he locks onto the shrike and you see the missle go off, he desperately tries to throw the flare grenades but it is to late, he gets hit and flys into the mountain.

You then start heading home, 2 friendlys come over to take the chasers off your tale but 1 slips through, you run out of jetpack energy so you turn around and a dogfight starts. You are battleing for 30 seconds and you fineally disk him in the air, he fals down and you head home, a team mate brings you a grav cycle and you do a switch, you zoom home for a cap.

to be honest... thats basically exactly what tribes 2 is... once you get yourself on a server with ppl wanting to play the game properly instead of fly grav bikes at mountains.. the game rocks. i think its the huge amount of players that does it.. especially once you all start talking and working together.. give the newbies (ME!) afew morew days.. then watch how good the games get!
