Earlier tonight SuicideTaxi casted a just under 5 hour marathon Tribes 2 Surprise fest on WSBN. The night started with Z0dd and Zod showing off a series of new (particularly sweet) maps, and then announcing that Base++ will become an official competition mod for Tribes 2, endorsed by Sierra. Base++ will be included in a Tribes 2 re-release scheduled for the end of this year.Taxi then proceeded to grill Marweas onto the air about the news of a Tribes 2 Expansion Pack. He confirmed the news and expanded to much much more. Not only will the re-release include a patched version of T2 and a copy of Base++, but also a second (currently unnamed) mod. Furthermore a competition will be run this summer where mappers, skinners and scripters can get their goodies also included onto the CD.Marweas mentioned that there is another feature (he said large feature ) to be included on the CD which he couldn't elaborate on this time. Stay tuned for an official Sierra announcement on the subject in the coming months.Marweas predicted that the expansion pack should cost in the order of $40US; with a $20 rebate for those who already own Tribes 2.Visit the WSBN site to find the uploaded audio and video recordings of the broadcast.

Actually T2 was recently released as budget, so the £40 is effectively the new people paying for both the game and the expasion. so works out the same.

I paid $40 for the game when it came out and I got - the game.

They'll pay $40 and get the game + expansion.

I'll have to pay another $20 (after the discount) to get the expansion. Therefore, because I bought the game when it came out I'll end up paying $60.
