i never watched the cartoons when i was little but i loved this film and now will probably watch a couple to see what all the fuss was about :)

I wouldnt do that. Nostalgia is a wonderful thing until you try and relive it...

Hehe. ^^

He's probably right.. but meh :p

You Got the Touch and Dare by Stan Bush are two of my all-time favourite songs ;D

Well.. I hope they don't have all the transformers being either cars or planes/helis in future films.. or if they are, I'd at least like they to look different =/

Just went and watched some original episodes.. dare I say it, they look far cooler than their CGI-fied counterparts :)

Its not a bet I'd entertain, I'm watching to see how many people have actually licked enough lead paint to enjoy watching shit like that. I have decided that Michael Bay is possibly a worse director than Guy Ritchie.

im not sure its fair to say if you like the film you have a mental health problem.

i went, i watched it, i laughed and then my friends and i did transformer impressions. now what exactly is the problem? i didnt give a shit about strong plots, intricate love affairs and i dont even give a crap about who shot JR. if im going to go see a movie designed for KIDS i expect nothing less than fast paced action, a lot left unexplained and shit flying left and right.

next time you goto see a film designed for people aged 0 - 60, you should probably remember its not going to be story telling on par with forest gump.

its a 12A ffs and obviously aimed at young people :p

and yes i know forest gump is a 12, but imo its more a film for adults than 12 yr olds.

Well, I've just seen it, and I thought it was the second best "dumb" film this year (after 300 of course). I don't know why there's so much animosity towards the shakeycam. I hardly noticed. The slow mo' was probably put in to allow people to appreciate the fights a little better. The Transformers are hyper advanced an' all so they can move quicker than the average, and again, I though it added to the overall experience. Especially when Ironhide is dodging all and sundry.

If indeed there are sequels, I'd love to see Tidal Wave make an appearance. Apparently he wasn't in this one because of budget restraints. It was pretty obvious they could have done alot more to this film than what it had in it. The first fight between Bumblebee and that Police Mustang (forget his name) was really annoyingly cut short, what with the geek fighting that little irritating CD player. It's also why Prime wasn't in the movie as much as he could have been.

Ah well, I thought it was enoyable yarn with enough references to keep the fanboys happy and a bit of new content to reinvigorate the franchise. Don't get me wrong, Michael Bay is one of my most hated Hollywood directors, and I was really worried when he was cast for the film. He tried his hardest to ruin it with Prime's speeches and glossy sunsets, but the Transformers prevailed (or my nostalgia did), and I will be owning the DVD and definitely keeping an eye out for the sequels.

I know that's your opinion, but that such a ...weird statement altogether. At one hand you seem to know transformers, at the other, not at all.

Don't really know what to think of it :eek7:

Meh, opinions, who needs to "get" them :D

Says the guy who was spouting of trash, and was then corrected by Aada earlier in the thread :p

Just in case...

Soundwave is definetly in the next one, as bay himself said he didn't want soundwave ruined in this movie because it's a "new thing". Which is an ironic statement considering what he DID do in this movie. Anyhoo, galvatron wasn't even in the original movie. He was, if i remember correctly, brought to life after that in a distant planet where his body landed.

After which the whole "scavenging for energy cubes" thing started. Galvatron was the bigger f*ck off version of megatron, changing into a cannon that shot planets basicly :D

His "resurrection" would fit this new line of movies. Since the bodies were dropped in the deepst part of the sea, with pressures basically squeezing them into one lump of metal, galvatron could be one to rise from there with some soft of "power of the cube" etc. And as all the metal would've been squeezed together, it could be an US enough explanation to the "dumb" crowd on why he's such a(even bigger) bad-ass.

But, galvatron was born way after optimus got snuffed, and was again resurrected, and flew the burial ship into the sun, destroying the threefaced mofo's etc etc :D

waaaaaaaaaaaa?????????????????

Totally wrong.

Megatron who was killed in the original movie was brought back to life by UNICRON you know the big ass mother fucker who eats planets.

UNICRON made Megatron into Galvatron.

Optimus got killed in the movie also.

Starscream also got killed in the movie by Galvatron.

Sheesh any Transformer fan knows this its basic stuff.

Frizz and Tris hit the nail on the head, it is a fun no brains required movie. Its got action, laughs, hot chick and fucking robots that transform!!!!

All of you haters can fuck off and watch Nintendo robot play soggy biscuit with Johnny five.

I can see why you are struggling with the movie though, Its best watched with your heads out of your arse.

Well yes i didn't mean "You know transformers" as "You know every single thing that went down exactly as it went". It was just meant as "You seem to remember stuff, but trash some other stuff that is well known."

I was around 6 or 7 when i saw them, also never saw the movie(never came), so to me galvatrons first arrival was in the series :D

Remembered(oh gee) wrong, but not THAT badly.

But like i've said before, it's not the freedom of plot etc that bothers me, it's the f*cking shaky cam that ruined every interesting part in it.

Hmm, out of interest Tohtori, what exactly did I trash? Typical Michael Bay mise-en-scène was about the only thing I had problems with. :) I've only seen the original film once (though I own it on DVD) and I was only born in '85 so kinda missed the series on TV. I loved the game on PS2, so I'm only somewhat familiar with some of the bitty characters names and most of what happened in G1 Transformers. No-one cares about Armada, so that doesn't count either. :p

Those parts just "quirked" my interest :D

Speed was never an issue, like, they were never "superfast" or anything in the series and "Primes' speeches and glossy sunsets", especially the "I will sacrifice myself and humanity is great and all this and that!" speeches were always a part of transformers
