Gohan is in dream land- lets face it all scousers are.

Eto'o to Man City is officially off, Man City pulled out because of the time it was taking. I think that they will now announce Tevez within a few days.

didnt bayern already turn down 50mil styte offers and demand much higher?

bayern been talking at around the £69m mark. So that would be a huge discount they getting. Unless it all upfront and the £69m included it being spread and with other clauses.

Aye it is all silly season gone mad, one thing I will say though, in some respects Real cannot lose on the Ronaldo transfer purely because of the extra merchandise and media revenue. Ribery on the other hand is an ugly bastard, like Gary Neville with half his face burned off, that isn't a face to grace a million magazine covers. Cruel I know but you have to be practical, Ronaldo will sell a ton of crap to the casuals and horny women.

Chelsea and England captain John Terry has demanded the opportunity to speak to Manchester City during crisis talks with Blues owner Roman Abramovich. (Various)

If Terry does join City, Chelsea will replace him with Newcastle's England Under-21 centre-back Steven Taylor.

could be a good deal for chelsea tbh

30 million for terry

maybe 5-10 back out on taylor

terry is getting on and probly only got a few more good years in him and taylor is only just comming into his game

I think this one is funny :)

Liverpool lurk as Sunderland's Cattermole bid fails - Transfers, Football - The Independent

It's funny if you read this thread in a liverpool forum

Independent: Liverpool eye Lee Cattermole
post

One wonder if stupid journalist just lurks internet forums and write articles of everything that gets posted on the forums :p

Before we got steve bruce as sunderland manager there was a poll on the sunderland forum about wether we wanted him or not , 2 days later one of the newspapers ( the guardian i think ) had the same poll with exactly the same result.

That was doing the rounds in the pubs last night in Manchester, I must have heard it 20 times over the course of the evening so I wouldn't put too much weight in it at the moment as it could just be a case of chinese wispers.

If city sign Adebayor and Tevez, that will mean Santa Cruz, Bellamy, Robinho all fighting for places, good luck keeping them all happy.

Can't say I am suprised, the market is very poor value at the moment and the players United want either aren't currently available or aren't interested in coming to England with the 50% tax hit.

Don't be suprised if he grabs a few more unknown youngsters but I don't see any big signings this summer.

I dont mind that Utd are not purchasing more players. They never go mental with money (well not too often). Prices are way too inflated currently thanks to Real Madrid and Man City...

Only thing from that press conference i was instantly unhappy about was the shirt that owen is being given.

Owen is going to be a bit part player, the number 7 shirt should remain a shirt that the better players get given. Even if that means there no number 7 for a couple seasons.

Owen at united will never fit in with the names "Ronaldo", "Beckham" (still say overhyped but was good enough), "Best", "Robson" and "Cantona" < Glad to see the frenchman lost alot of weight he had once put on, looked pretty good shape when saw him at Silverstone.

Really disappointed, and I bet alot of fans would be too. At this point in time they should have left it untaken. One of the few players I would have been happy with taking that shirt would be Rooney - though he more a number 9 player and so wouldnt think he would want the no.7 ... that said i doubt he ever change from his no.10

well in the future it will, as long as people in look 50 years dont look to closely at the fact he was in the twilight of his career

in the future say that the shirt that owen best cantona beckham ronaldo ectectect wore it would sound normal, as stats wise owen is already a historical legened

Football 365 though, that site is even worse than goal.com!

Tevez to City has taken another step foward.

Corran, on the number 7 shirt, you are assuming that owen will be a bit part player -now with no more signings I think that a lot of people could be wrong with that thought. If we continue with the 3 pronged attack then Owen will most likely be involved a lot. I've got faith in Fergie to do well, he very rarely fucks up, and has learnt his lesson about overspending. He is spot on, Rafa said the same thing a few days ago as well, Madrid have fucked the market. Same thing happened with Ambramovich bough Chelski, I think January may be a more sensible time for premier league big boys to buy.

aye owen could be more then a "bit part" - but in terms of united overal I cant see him being the kind of player i like to relate the number 7 shirt too.

It just me though, Owen would have to get back to his early days in order for me to think he even begins to deserve it. He was once a great player, but his many injuries have taken away a key part of his game... his accelleration and speed. Maybe his fitness will improve and he wont pick up too many injuries - but the fact his contract is apparently full of bonus clauses of high value i dont see him being a 40games a season man. (maybe play 10 minutes in 40 games ;p )

This is the reason Arse will always be a selling club, they wont pay top wages.
