Will the club see all 80 mill or will a large portion go to ease the debt burden of the owner??

Can't see Man Utd get anyone even close to Ron for next season. Big loss and a lot of goals they are going to miss.

Our debt is being serviced already, without the need to sell players, just look at our transfer spending every summer. The club make more than enough money to cover the debt payments.

Sorry but if that was true you would not be going further into debt.

Damn you Marc :(

Can't turn your nose at 80million or a transfer request it seems.

Told you :D

Villa also very close.

However, take comfort that although Real madrid are a bigger draw for a player than Man United, Ferguson will spend that money wisely.

Im hearing Benzama is the number 1 target.

Salvador Cabañas

in 2006 (I think it was), he was the striker with most goals in the world.

He looks like ebanks-blake mach 2, gave brazil a horrid time the whole match, class act.

It is called refinancing, if you look into it you will see that a lot of businesses survive on loans. As long as the debt is serviced there is nothing wrong with it.

Also megadave, where was the 40million loss from, those figures were from Liverpool/

I;ve always got faith in Fergies signings, he makes very few mistakes at the top end of spending. Nani was a risk, and Veron was the last major flop.

Least not forget Djemba-Djemba and Kleberson

Utd are in the same situation basically. Despite the big revenue, you are recording losses due to huge interest on the massive debt.

Kleberson played last night for Brazil, bit of an odd selection, no?

Yeah, I said signings at the top end :p He takes risks otherwise.

megadave, soze, my bad on the money thing. Found the figures you were referring to, they are the 44.4million loss of Red holdings, the parent company, the club itself made profit. Despite those figures, which cover the 07/08 season, we still spend £32 million last summer.

I wonder how much United will lose in shirt sales now, and how much Madrid will gain. Kaka alone is a cash cow.

Real Madrid will have recouped the £120m they have spent on Ronaldo and kaka in less than a year due to shirt sales and foreign friendly matches. They can charge up to £25million a game, just to appear in asia.

Well last I heard was that Barca werent interested, but now it seems we are, so one can only assume that Villa is nailed on to go to Real madrid. I know Mourinho is keen on the swap and who can blame him. He gets a bona fide world class striker in exchange for a lazy show pony.

Wonder if these transfers will give the spanish league the spotlight back from the premier league?

Nah Real will concede even more goals with Kaka and Ronaldo in the team so they will still be shit against quality opposition.

to be fair they've never really had a lack of attacking players, so buying more attacking players just shows perez is back to old ways. He focused last time on attacking players then sold makalele who was pretty much their rock. Spanish sides need to focus more of their defence a bit an less on their attack for once.

Fucking good riddance to the little prick. I may be eatting my words next year if we dont win the league but i never liked the little fucker so im glad to see him go an for that price maybe we can get 2 grat players. In my opinion 90% of the time he never turned up for games that were important just floped around on the ground. Dont get me wrong he was great for scoring 2 goals when we were aready 2 nil up against some bottom half team but i wont really shed any tears for the twat.

with all the talk of Divaldo,

0950 BST: AC Milan midfielder Andrea Pirlo has received Italy coach Marcello Lippi's blessing to move to Chelsea this summer.

Yeah I saw that, and was very confused. I didn't know Lippi had a say in Milan transfer policy. These journo's, crazy fuckers.

As great as a player pirlo has been, would he really fit into chelsea/the premiership?
