What's the point?

Surely by now they must know where the problems is (in terms of IP addresses) and it's the same place as it's been the last dozen times we've started to experience problems.

Not to be overly negative but a few pingplots pointing out the achingly obvious whereabouts of the problem isn't going to help them unless they're so stupid as to not make the connection with the last billion lag problems

For example the problems we were having in May this year - do the problematic hops look a bit familar to the above pics?

if you can't be arsed taking a new pingplot don't bother but keep whines out of what should be a productive thread.

(and no, old pingplots don't help - router configs change, routes change etc.)

He does have a point altho, since, casually, it's the exact same ip address from which start problems on my pplot taken yesterday night.

I think the reason it was so hard to track down last time is it only showed up when a route changed - constant lag is easy ;) intermittent is not.

Helps to have which route you're on and getting the lag as well as identifying the problematic router :)

A couple of suggestions. Increase the Samples to include. The 10% packetloss from odd routers is only 1 packet, due to the small sample size. Use 500 or 1000, if that is how many you have.

Your (RS|Phil) plots are also a perfect example of why it's useful to for several people to send them in. If that's exactly what you have now, then your route and mine are completely different, other than the last two steps. On my plots the problems first occur at either step 14 or 15 (of 16 - step 14 doesn't respond to the ping). On yours they occur at step 14 (of 15). So, from that you can tell that it'll almost certainly be step 15 on mine, not step 14.

That's the sort of information you can only get from multiple plots.

Shouldn't be affecting everyone though.

Keep posting those pingplots if you're lagging!

Both my accounts just went LD now at 1613, after several minutes of very bad lag just like yesterday's.

hmm can we spam opentransit-wanaado hop techs bout it? (atleast i got shit ther e:<) aswell? :p i mean if they dont take goa serious, maybe a few thousand ping plot logs would make them rethink stuff

on a side note: still got timeouts - spikes on wanadooportails-1 bla bla opentransit.net, but it starts when i connect to opentransit first hop (wanadoo is the 3rd

Just getting bored of this anti-GoA stuff so apologies to quote you, its just the one that was closest to hand.

GoA get flamed for being crap and not being concerned about their customers. Does anyone seriously think that? <Edit- yup, some people do>

GoA are, as are all MMORPG companies, trying to make money. Why would they not try to fix a problem?

Do people really think GoA like or are not trying to solve the lag we are getting? <Edit- yup, some idiots here do>

Just grow up, GoA and the GMs are trying to fix it, the GMs play too so they are also getting a crap service, but please don't live under the delusion that GoA don't care. They obviously do, being a business...

I'll await the /flame

Ive been able to narrow down the obvious place where my lag/bad ping starts...

193.251.241.142 so-1-3-0-0.fftcr4.Frankfurt.opentransit.net

Dno if its the same for all...but after doing 1k ping plots...at 3-4AM cet...my ping to this router is 200-250...pls note the time! Im gonna run a thousand more at primtime and see how bad that is..altho I fear the outcome.
