You're conflating crime and regulation a little with that example @old.Osy. They're not the same things. So lets largely ignore the crime bit (done that to death anyway). I'm all for full implementation of KYC legislation (not just in the crypto space - but in actual banks too). KYC being "know your customer". Right now - we don't do KYC in trad. banking particularly well - but then trad. banking is opaque by design and facilitates money laundering because of it's opacity. Crypto movement is much more easily traceable. And sensible regulation in the crypto arena is to be welcomed.

There are absolutely some regulations that crypto is designed to avoid, however. And that's a good thing. We've had centuries of government failure to run banking systems fairly and for all. Private companies (banks) pump money in one direction. This is by design.

Designing this level of control out of government or private hands is desireable. We know what happens with the opposite - institutional theft.

The thing with reports like this is that most people overlook the fact that say a 10% contraction following by a 10% recovery means you are still worse off than when you started.

I do feel some sympathy for him, he was brought to the UK through no fault of his own, and his parents lack of concern for his official status is what led to this, but I dont think Tory's have much to do with this. He would have been deported under a labour government too. Drugs plus violence and you're gone.

I get that and would agree if someone came here as an adult...but he was 5. What's he going to do in Zimbabwe? He can't even speak their language, knows nobody there, has no money, nowhere to live. What benefit does it serve anyone?

I came to the UK at 3 from Germany (born on a military base) have have absolutely no memory of Germany.

Probably the one we had on the berks/bucks border about an hour and a half ago. Hurled it down for about 20 minutes, with thunder and lightning. Looks like it's heading back here for round 2 now.

That's not true. Whilst the ability to deport has always been on the books, this whole "deport them even though they were infants when they got here" is pure Tory; it was put in under Theresa May's tenure as Home Secretary.

Yep - it's a Tory thing.

I don't feel particularly sorry for the cunt - as @SilverHood says - "drugs and violence".

However, what I do object to is US doing the wrong thing. Especially just to appease Tory voters who just want to kick people. "Yeah he's a criminal, he deserves anything he gets - lets fuck him off to Zimbabwe".

Nah, that's a bigger crime than he's likely to have committed. He's clearly our responsibility. Prison / rehabilitation (lol) and a miserable life in blighty is the punishment. Not fuck him out of the country.
