Because its a really fucking stupid advert?
In essence is the same as get on your bike and look for work message of the twenties. I dont see why people are complaining that if you dont got employment at the moment go work somewhere that is functioning.

if you cant make money dancing you suggest they just sit on their arses and claim government money?

@Gwadien so if you have no work in your chosen sector what do you want them to do?

Rebuild that sector rather than giving your pals back handers whilst embarking on a propaganda campaign to distance the Government from the damage that Covid and Brexit are going to cause.

The reality is that lots of people will be sat on their arse at home and the government is adamant to make them feel like its all their fault.

At least Amazon warehouses will have shit loads of talented drones in there. :)

Perfect Basmati rice. Try this method:

[x] amount of rice (eg. 3 oz)
[2x] amount of water (= 6 fl oz)
Place both in a pan together
Bring to boil
Then immediately turn down to medium-low heat & cover
Simmer for 5 mins
Remove from heat
Allow rice to steam for 10 minutes. Do not remove lid
Done

I added a pinch of turmeric (for colour), pinch of paprika, pinch of salt, pinch of sugar
Awesome

Totally correct - I would add that it depends on the pan and cooking medium - I used to have an old style electric which took a while to cool down, so on that it was 'bring to a simmer and the turn off and leave it'. On gas with a fairly heavy bottom pan then 'bring to a simmer, turn right down for 2 mins, then off and wait'. Another step worth adding - put a clean tea towel over the top of the pan once pretty much cooked - it can help absorb any excess. Final tip - many places to a lovely 'pilau rice' seasoning mix (y)

How do you know that the ballet isn't just a hobby?

It read to me as;

'What? Brexit and Covid has ruined the economy? Well, it's going to be your fault you're out of a job, get a sensible job ffs!'

Why has Scouse turned into a super Tory since moving to Wales? :D
No.

If you read the article - there's outrage because they're asking a ballerina to try a job in cyber security. But they're withdrawing it and asking a baker instead.

I acknowledge it's a bit shit to not be able to follow yer dreams, but why is it not OK to ask a ballerina, but it's OK to ask a baker?

Or just bring a large pot of water to the boil add rice, bring heat to a simmer and try some every so often until done.
Remove from heat, drain and rest for a minute.
Done

You could rinse with boiling water from Kettle if too "starchy" for you.

Then do whatever you want to do with it.

@Lamp you wanna check out Madhur Jaffrey if you're cooking Indian.

Make Onion Bhajis with your samosas too, they're piss easy.

Yeah, but it will be wet, or broken from straining....

No not really.
Also not if you have it out the pot at the right time. That is why you try it every so often.

You put enough water in a pan for the rice to soak it all up, you're not making a rice stew.

I accidentally put too little water in the rice cooker the other day, so I got really dry rice, perfect for my curry!

Absolutely. No 10 step process for me thanks. I like the nice and simple method.

Huh?

I measure the rice and water and put them in the pan. Turn it on, then off. Don't be daft :D
