That's why you should train in the UK (let the NHS pay for it) THEN go to the US.

You still get debts training as a doctor. They have to pay some tuition fees and also have living expenses. But no where near 450k as the government pays some of it.

Found out I may be getting made redundant at the end of September, I'll know by the end of August. I'm surprisingly calm, should I expect to give more of a shit soon?

Depends how much they gonna pay you off with and what commitments you have as well as ease of finding new jobs in your industry.

I have known people get layed off and have a few months holiday before looking again. Its not all bad.

Get your CV sorted and with agencies by tomorrow night m8.

Redundancy hits people in weird ways and the dangerous one is apathy. It can drag passed the date and on into unemployment and become depression.

Start looking for a new job now. Even if you don't get made redundant it's a healthy state of mind to constantly be in, rather than coasting.

I left my job and signed up for a course..wasnt even expecting to do anything with it..but it cost me 2K so I made sure I turned up everyday, it actually led to the best job Ive had in my life.
As posted apathy is your enemy..its very easy to start watching daytime tv.

Your feelings towards it may change over time. As others have posted, get your stuff sorted early even if you end up staying. A few easy "me days" can quickly become a few lazy months, followed by apathy, anti-social behaviour, and then serious depression.

In the US, you can join the navy and get free medical education. Have to do 2 or 3 years of active duty, but hey, that's life. All men must serve.

?? There's no conscription. Or are you saying women don't have to?

valar dohaeris.

What it actually is, is another example of how the US Military is the most extravagant welfare scheme in human history.

Just got the keys to my new and very first house today. I've never painted a wall in my life before. It's not pretty, but practice makes perfect <3

The Guard is all over this.
I just cant help but feel its all a bit trendy.
They'll be a push in a few decades to change these plaques to suit the virtue fashion of the day.

They must be "all over it" somewhere other than the front page of their website, where it isn't even mentioned.

She actually appears to be a big figure in the LGBT+ community.

What's your problem?

Should we only celebrate traditional heroes? War Heroes? Let's get a statue of Blair up.

Ramp it up eh.
I think the wording and the rainbow is a bit crass and plaques need to be timeless...if you want Lbgbeetee to be the norm then celebrate it normally.
