I don't think good presentation of food is particularly pretentious - there's an element of that but there's definitely a skill involved. It's part of human culture to sometimes celebrate our food and if you're going out to celebrate in that manner then I can see no problem.

Iit's not as if you're forced to buy it. That fish looks amazingly well prepared and looks delicious.
