That's fucking retarded.

If you saw a young girl about to get run over by a lorry would you call out to her, or would you just figure "fuck it, I'm ridin' the train yo', lets watch this bitch die"

If you can see a problem, you fix it.
There is no viable alternative at the moment to a lot of the fossil usage. So we have no choice to use it for air travel, cars etc, a lot of manufacturing of plastics etc etc. with china and India building coal fired power stations by the dozen there is no shout to stop the girl getting run over for this situation. Which as I said before hasn't been proved one way or the other.

I can't wait for self driving cars. Humans are TERRIBLE drivers. Sleepy, distracted, chatting, snoozing, speeding, skidding. Fuck me, I'm amazed I'm alive every time I get off the M40 in London.

And the scary thing is that British drivers are statistically the really good ones.

Shudder. It'll massively increase road safety, reduce fuel usage, reduce pollution in all stages of car production and usage and massively reduce the size of the fleet of cars needed. I'd love to subscribe to a service that gave me an SLA for my chosen class of car for £x per month and then £x per mile/hour/whatever. Totally flexible, self driving and economical taxis are the dream.

Clearly not true.

If the markets were good at managing finite resources then they'd protect really useful-for-everyone stuff before it became so scarce that only the rich would be able to afford it.

You cant afford oil? It's still not scarce enough to be expensive - one reason is that as the price rises new areas become viable and tar sand extraction is now possible.

Anyone who loved playing doom 1 + 2 back in the day will love playing the brutal doom mod. I've played it a few hours and it is fantastic. The weapons feel great and also have secondary fire modes such as firing 1 shotgun shell with the twin barrel shotgun, you can head shot, blow enemies legs and arms off leaving them screaming and still alive and also some enemies will get back up and start shooting again if you leave them, bullet shell casings come out of the gun and litter the floor, you also reload clips now instead of having all the ammo in the gun making strategy more important, some graphics have been updated such as the demons fireballs, the explosions look great, bullet holes crack your screen when you get shot, you can sneak and back stab execute enemies etc.

Highly recommended.

"If you had ten bacon sandwiches and someone asked you for two of them, how many bacon sandwiches would you have?"
"Ten"
"OK, but if you had ten bacon sandwiches and someone took two off you, what would you have then?"
"Ten bacon sandwiches and a corpse"

There is, or was a sandwich shop around the corner from the Norbreck Castle Hotel in Blackpool. Did bacon and eggs in the biggest fucking rolls I've ever seen. Proper packed it in too. Was £2.50 back in 2005. Probably £10 now, worth it though!

I have just been reading about being a Freeman on the Land. I have come across this and while I think it is admirable I really hope I never meet one of these guys. http://www.fmotl.com/SOCPAScam.htm

Seems a lot of whinging about being stupid enough to overtake plod on the motorway at excessive speed and then being found to have racked up too many points but not having been banned due to admin error.

Not sure I believe the 'friend' bit either - people ranting this much are generally the involved person.

No doubt its all a bit whatever..but this area of the law really concerns me..seizing your car based on a databse that we have no opportunity to question at the roadsie..its draconian and a perfect example of the thin edge of the wedge...if your insurance company cocks up sending details to the MID database the Police will seize your car at the roadside..if this happens to amyone they should sue them to the fullextent ubder the data protection act..thats what its there for and is being pushed into the background by the Police to make life easier for them..which is al very good but the end game of that is being required to prove you arent breaking the law at any moment...which is starting to happen allready with SORN.

Today is an excellent day. I have just managed to BCC the dick head who does the weekend work rota into trouble. I actually feel far happier than I should but after 18 months of telling people he is doing it on purpose and his skating by he has finally put himself in a corner he cant wriggle out of. Even though he will only get a bollocking it still feels like a victory.

Google supplied it - interestingly it came out a couple of days before he died.

I wouldn't take 1 year as anything, will see how it goes over the next 5-10 years. In saying that, more and more seems to point to the temperature lowering, or at least plateauing. I bet the Tax man is getting twitchy.

Yes - the interesting thing is that this occurred when the wind patterns reverted to their more normal path than of recent years. I think Arctic sea ice may turn out to be useless as a proxy for temperature and purely indicative of the position of the Jetstream which does vary year on year.
