Yeah but that's comparing apples and oranges - we have 4 years of accurate Sea Ice volume info from the Satellite - that's all.

Before that we have guesswork - and guesswork is extremely susceptible to subjectivity and bias.

All the stuff before geosat has such high margins of error you would be pretty unscientific to base anything on it.

As I said Sea Ice volumes just seem to reflect wind patterns.

Sigh. It was so close to just kind of going away with the growing up of a less-radical generation. Looks like it's only going to escalate. MI5 & co have greater powers than ever to watch these nutters, now, though.

I don't think its anything to get too concerned about. Most of the time this isn't even "sectarian" in the old fashioned sense, its straightforward protection rackets and extortion. There are lots of former IRA types in Dublin knocking lumps out of each other all the time (including shootings and pubs mysteriously burning down); doesn't mean much other than straightforward criminality. Not to say there aren't "issues" in the North, but the numbers prepared to get their hands dirty are pretty small these days (I think I read somewhere that you could fit all the active dissident Republicans in one Transit Van).

Actually I'm with Uncle Sam on this one; but then I generally am on the side of anyone not a"diplomat being a dick and abusing their position". The woman was more or less keeping an indentured servant ffs and committing visa and employment fraud. And to add to the irony she's the Indian spokesperson for "the empowerment of women". Fuck her tbh.
