Well I asked my other half and his opinion (as he is still considered within the acceptable age to be a faux hipster although he is not), I think it is valid..

1) boy hipsters have stricter rules than girl hipsters (goes against the real meaning of someone at the forefront of trends)
2) boy hipsters must have a silly mustache
3) jumpers are only hipsterish if worn in the middle of summer
4) there are no lenses or fake lenses in their glasses

For me I stand by my point which is a true hipster would never describe themselves as part of another social group :)

Glad that's settled, what do you and your other half think about the situation in Israel?

Did anyone else see this, I see a health and safety nightmare, or lots of stolen drones

http://www.amazon.com/b?ref_=tsm_1_tw_s_amzn_mx3eqp&node=8037720011
right now they're no where near safe enough. There would be daily occurrences of drones falling out of the air and hurting people very badly. Frankly I think we're quite some way before the tech for this is mature enough. They need to be fully autonomous and able to react to shit like birds and sudden very strong gusts of wind. Also, landing and taking off automatically in a safe place will be an issue. Having these drones do inter-depot drops would be more viable, in my view. You could have a well established corridor of airspace that the CAA knows about and well equipped launch/land pads at each end with trained opers on hand. Then maybe you walk to your nearest depot to pick your loot up.

Was in Currys checking out there new in 4K screens, 60 inch Samsung running the timelapse demo.
Wasn't as impressed as I thought I would be, they are kickass sharp of course, but compared to a 1080 nearby, it just wasn't that much of a step up.
Just like megapixels in cameras, it's the source that matters...but holy fuck they had a 42 inch screen running a DVD, it looked awful!

I'd also imagine it will be -very very- expensive to order something using one of these, so would you be prepared to get something delivered instantly, or just jump in your car to the nearest place that sells said item, and it'll probably save you money?

No reason it would be particularly expensive. At scale, you can make drones like that relatively cheaply (grand or so). running costs are fairly low. Certainly comparable to a bloke and a van.

And me hunting them with my quadcopter. I'd mount some air to air weapons and give chase.

Why destroy them? Capture them instead for the free goodies. It could give a whole new meaning to pirating games or software .... or socks.

Presumably a drone recently dropped off 2.3kg of crack at Amazon HQ.

That's a different topic all together ... A question for you though are you a secret Christmas jumper wearer who thinks that a youthful relatively harmless pseudo sociodemographic section of society is stealing your speshul identity ?

Oh and what does the fox say?

How much weight can it carry? I always wonder how long until people start weaponising these things.
bout 1.5kg for ~10 mins. It can do 40mph without too much hassle. That's a bombing radius of about 3 miles or about 4 million potential targets given where I live (West London, extremely high population density). :D

I wonder if that triggered an alert somewhere. It probably should have, frankly.

How much moolah are you looking at for a setup like that Chilly? And do you have remote control of the gimbal as well?

It's not really a terror weapon with that payload but perfect for assassinations.
