It's pretty horrible tbh - should we call the irish ones roma though since that means Romanian origin not the irish travellers?

In this case, yes, they're Romanian immigrants (the kind who beg with a kid in tow around Dublin) rather than Irish "travellers" (knackers, pikeys).

I remember seeing a video (which I won't post here for fear of upsetting teedle's sensibilities) where a krokodil junkie had literally nothing but bone for about 6 inches on his lower leg and they were basically sawing his foot off with what looked like dental floss (some sort of wire saw). Everything had just rotted away, it was... um... I don't even know what it was.

iirc the russian government cracked down on heroin which drove the price up. Junkies have to get opiates somehow and krokodil is the only way they can afford to now.
