Exactly. Same with people. Those looking less than friendly, probably are. Shaved head, tattooed; you know which ones. Doesn't matter how sweet they seem to be.

Apart from exceptionally rare individuals with congenital brain defects dog behaviour to humans is a product of environment. A dog that reacts viciously (generally to men) has been physically abused by someone - usually the owner.

I have raised two dogs from puppies that were both the soppiest things you could ever meet because they were socialised constantly with a variety of people and have never been struck by humans.

Thus they only associate humans with food, treats, play, strokes etc. and every human is then a friend. They verge a bit on the over friendly but neither has ever shown any negative reaction to a human which is essential because I have kids and the kid's friends coming over.

A friend of mine has 3 staffs, soft as crap. Though rather worrying when they all come charging at you, all trying to get attention at once.

My brother in laws parents have two alsations, really big scary looking things but they are so soft they would let my nieces put saddles on them and ride them if they were allowed to.

Yep. Mate of mine had a couple of GSD's that were mountain rescue. Uncle had two GSD's police dogs that he had to keep in a cage in the yard or they'd kill people.

But they can *all* turn..... whenever.

Somewhere I remember seeing a similar chart translating English to Klingon.

I agree with most of this apart from the highlighted bit; problem with dogs is they actually suffer from a lot of genetic disorders; with on average one in four dogs suffering from some kind of genetic abnormality, rising to one in two for pure-breds. Now, obviously not all doggy defects result in brain disorders, but its still orders of magnitude higher than in humans for example.

I sometimes think its surprising dogs don't do a lot more damage than they're blamed for

General genetic disorders are higher because some have been bred for (like spots on dalmation's which are controlled by the gene that can also cause deafness) but in most breeds that weren't bred for fighting/guard work dogs that showed vicious/psychotic behaviour were either destroyed or never bred from - the incidence of psychotic diseases is probably much lower than in humans...

I was generalising a bit trying to make a point. Obviously you seem to be the exception to the rule; inside a Hells Angels convention.

Could be a cultural difference also here, but usually the bigger/meaner looking they are the calmer they are. Usually the biggest wankers are the metrosexual looking gym-trotters who are "out on a pull".

Random spam eh?

My contract ended today (Albeit I resigned exactly a month ago) and I'm back in London full time in less than 16 hours from now. Feeling shitty because of the people I'm leaving behind but I move onto a new opportunity. Is weird. :( Sad me. Sad O.D.

Note: Working here for 3 years. Rather emotional and rather intoxicated atm. =/

In other news, my new wireless keyboard is hardwired to the US layout. It's irritating.

Some technology expert on the radio just said parts of London can enjoy download speeds up to 150 MB per second.
How do I get a piece of that?
