He does raise a good point that bothers me about the case.

There have been plenty of other uses of the agressive self defence law and on paper there was no real case here so the only reason it blew up was it was a black kid shot by a white guy and obamas not doing so well in the polls.

Its a stupid law but it exists - if people decide it is wrong now why dont they campaign to change it?

To those against him hes a white guy it seems - his mothers peruvian his dads white - not that any of that is relevant when no one could show any racist motive.

It was basically a case where two blokes are fighting and one shoots the other - lacking good witnesses it was always going to favour the defendant.

Sometimes dental work is carried out under a general anaesthetic - it's only carried out in dental hospital's over here not in your average dentists anymore as people tended to die.

Edit - actually it only changed in 1998 - before that an average of 3 people a year died from Dental General Anaesthesia.

I remember my brother being really delirious and sick in the back of the car after a dental anesthetic once; he'd had a couple of big eye-teeth removed (like an extra pair of Dracula fangs growing in there), so I can see how this is possible.
