I quite liked Birmingham. Coventry on the other hand, there's a shithole if ever I saw one.

Bradford has a few nice old buildings remaining so it isn't all bad but there are parts full of 1970's concrete boxes that are fucking ugly. Much the same for Brum even after the recent investment. Rotherham is fucking terrible, infact most of South Yorkshire is blighted by really bad 70's era builds which have been put next to lovely old churches and meeting halls etc.

Brutalist architecture has it's place, but I think it's absolutely fugly. Corbusier has a lot to answer for.

It just looks depressing, sad, dark, lonely. Like death; a building in the theme of death.

I honestly don't mind the Birmingham accent any more. The few Brummies I know are very nice people. In fact the further away from the Home Counties you go, in any direction, ppl are nicer. So many twats in London its unreal. Worst accent = Cockney by a long shot.

Thats the pretty end - it just gets worse from there tbh. There's a few main shopping streets that are ok but away from the centre its just hideous urban sprawl with less character and charm than london but even Brum looks like a chocolate box compared to Coventry <shudder>.

Moved down to Southampton 3 years ago and have never been happier, also used to visit friends in wolverhampton and leeds and both places everyone just talks to everyone, in Stevenage (post war new town for london overspew) and all other london connected places, people are so much ruder and people jsut keep to themselves, there's no community spirit at all.
