Still not convinced. The inner ear problem still needs to be solved. Hope I'm wrong, but I doubt it.

Internet discussion isn't about coming to an end result that both parties can accept, it's about coming to your end result that other parties can f*ck off.

Oh and Daff, true, we can hope. If nothing else, immersion screen would be great to have that wouldn't destroy you, motion or not.

The inner ear problem effects different people in different ways. Some people get car sick/sea sick for the same reason. Some people even get it from sitting too close to their screen when playing FPS games for example.

Not that i have those problems, but would be great if it got solved somehow.

Personally I've never experienced any kind of travel sickness in my life (I love big seas that get most people hurling for example), but I have suffered disorientation when I've tried to use VR goggles in the past, which makes me think it must have a disproportionate effect. A lot of that affect is due to lag in the system. Your brain is tuned to expect a very precise amount of lag between what you see and what you feel so when that changes things don't always work out very nicely.

Exactly, the lag needs to be below 20ms to be comfortable if I remember correctly. Most of the consumer headsets at the moment are in the 100ms or greater range.

Microsoft Security Essentials

Pretty much everytime I boot up I get

"Windows did not pass genuine validation. Security Essentials will become disabled if you do not resolve this issue. Click Resolve now and get genuine Windows".

My copy of Windows is genuine. Followed various things suggested online, but still getting it.

When I minimise or close the application window Im always left with the shadow of the screen on my desktop:

Reckon uninstall & re-install will do the job?

Can't hurt I guess. Check if there are any windows updates and also in control panel it tells you if your version of windows is activated/live.

haha I was watching a random mw3 stream on Twitch out of boredom, thought the guy was sick but at the end of the stream he popped up a random menu (see screenshot)

I've seen that several times, not just for MSE. Sometime the validation tool itself gets broken after a bad update. I'd try reinstalling the latest version.
