Ah the ZX Spectrum, fuck me how many hours of my life playing Jet Set Willy, Lunar Jetpac and that fucking cunt of an adorable game, Lords of Midnight and the sequel.
This was the start of console / gaming wars... BBC Micro mate, that's where it was at!!!

I remember the Commodore Pet at school and then the BBC Micro. I instantly fell in love with Joust.

I have my late brother-in-law's BBC here which I tried to get working again and failed... will be giving it another go though. I used to play Elite for hours on end, and loved Defender on it too - the scrolling in that was epic!

Aha, thought they were on my main NAS which has a fucked power supply but I had a backup on another NAS. Just did a directory count of all the games for all the old computers/consoles and the total came back as

99957

Give or take 1-1000 for . and .. directories. I will package the lot up if anyone wants.

I was stupid enough to leave a freshly opened 350g tub of dreamies on my desk this morning. I now have an empty tub and 2 cats that look like they regret it.

Saw this fella outside my neighbour's gate the other night. Left it some water and cat food. First hedgehog I've seen in all the time I've lived here. Next year I think I'm going to replace my back yard fencing with hedges to encourage more wildlife to hang about.

You don't necessarily need a hedge, though, they are infinitely better than boards, for all sorts of reasons.

Just cut some holes in the bottom, to allow them through.

You could plant against the fencing and just cut openings in the bottom at regular intervals - allows movement through...
