I don't tend to like to share my annoyance...unless it is against @Scouse :p

It wasn't that far off my usual waking time, no matter what time I go to bed I wake up around 6am thus I try to go to bed earlier than I used to.
Hehe, once in a while won't hurt :p

I normally wake up around 6am but for a while I have struggled to get to and then stay asleep. Gotta go see Doctor and see if they can give me some horse tranquilizers.

You could just ask Wij, I'm sure he has some spare.

In my sleep deprived (depraved?) state I misread what @Deebs wrote. I thought he said
"I normally wake up around 6am for a beer"

:cheers:

Still here but been doing stuff whilst shite was on TV...

1. Re-stacked 3 of my NAS servers into a metal shelf unit - not entirely happy as it is a bit too tall.
2. Re-stacked 2 of my NUC servers into the same shelf unit above (these run my game servers I mentioned elsewhere for my family/friends).
3. Changed IP addresses and upgraded my virtual game servers which run on the 2 NUCs.
4. Setup a spare BT Modem in bridge mode, I want to bridge to the internet and not route as all my infrastructure is sat behind my firewall which does all my routing. No doubt will be a world of pain whilst I play but not just yet.

So apart from no sleep for about 24 hours it has been productive. Went for a walk around where I live, helped a stranger find his mobile phone whilst out for my walk.

Oh you can fuck right off @BloodOmen as you have most definitely passed on your no-sleeping habit :p

That might be enough for the nose, but what about the rest of you?

I had a thought on how you can be useful and excite me.

As you are so short you can just stand in my lounge and I can use you as a stool.

We will have a boy called Cosmo - we had to pick two - after an hour we decided on the calmest or the most excitable of the four (green or brown collar) however we really do not mind

Spare? highly doubt that.

Might go and play knock down ginger on @Edmond's door seeing as it is bright and nearly 8am.
I'd left the house by 6.45 this morning, so you'd have been wasting your time

Nah as I was thinking I could just pretend to inspect stuff and take a cheeky piss but in the end I asked Dad to take me to B&Q to buy some shingle and sand so I can redo the drive (baby steps!!).

If you could shrink our solar system to the size of a 10p coin, the Milky Way would be about the size of North America.

Welp time to stop using Youtube. They actually block the video player now if you use an ad-blocker.

Edit: Found a fix using Tampermonkey, paste the following script into script editor on tampermonkey extension then save it. Works for now at least.

// ==UserScript==
// @name Remove Adblock Thing
// @namespace Home | Tampermonkey
// @version 1.0
// @description Removes Adblock Thing
// @author JoelMatic
// @match https://www.youtube.com/*
// @icon https://www.google.com/s2/favicons?sz=64&domain=youtube.com
// @grant none
// ==/UserScript==

(function () {
// Specify domains and JSON paths to remove
const domainsToRemove = [
'*.youtube-nocookie.com/*'
];
const jsonPathsToRemove = [
'playerResponse.adPlacements',
'playerResponse.playerAds',
'adPlacements',
'playerAds',
'playerConfig',
'auxiliaryUi.messageRenderers.enforcementMessageViewModel'
];

const debug = true; // Set to false to disable debug messages

if (debug) console.log("Script started");

// Old variable but could work in some cases
window.__ytplayer_adblockDetected = false;

removeJsonPaths(domainsToRemove, jsonPathsToRemove);
setInterval(() => {
const popup = document.querySelector("body > ytd-app > ytd-popup-container");
if (popup) {
if (debug) console.log("Remove Adblock Thing: Popup detected, removing...");

popup.remove();

// Check if the video is paused
const video = document.querySelector("#movie_player > video.html5-main-video");
if (video && video.paused) {
// Simulate pressing the "k" key to unpause the video
const keyEvent = new KeyboardEvent("keydown", {
key: "k",
code: "KeyK",
keyCode: 75,
which: 75,
bubbles: true,
cancelable: true,
view: window
});
document.dispatchEvent(keyEvent);
if (debug) console.log("Remove Adblock Thing: Unpaused video using 'k' key");
}

if (debug) console.log("Remove Adblock Thing: Popup removed");
}
}, 1000);

// Observe and remove ads when new content is loaded dynamically
const observer = new MutationObserver(() => {
removeJsonPaths(domainsToRemove, jsonPathsToRemove);
});

const observerConfig = { childList: true, subtree: true };
observer.observe(document.body, observerConfig);

function removeJsonPaths(domains, jsonPaths) {
const currentDomain = window.location.hostname;
if (domains.includes(currentDomain)) {
jsonPaths.forEach(jsonPath => {
const pathParts = jsonPath.split('.');
let obj = window;
for (const part of pathParts) {
if (obj.hasOwnProperty(part)) {
obj = obj[part];
} else {
break;
}
}
obj = undefined;
});
}
}

})();

On my Windows laptop, I'm using Chrome. Must have some ad blocker in it. I've never had an advert on YouTube.
On my Android phone, I use ReVanced instead of YouTube. No ads.

To block ads system wide on Android - no root - and no ad blocker app simply go into Settings / Networks and Internet / Advanced / Private DNS: set to dns.adguard.com

No ads.

Nice, didn't know that @Lamp but I don't really go browsing the internet on my phone. Bookmarked though :)

I have to caveat that. I'm still running Android 10 (lol). No idea if it still works in later versions
(I'm going to get a new phone later on in the year - maybe a Pixel 8 Pro - which will probably come with Android 14 on it)

Spent the week in Cape Town working. Had the last day to myself, so went up Table Mountain for the third time. Second time doing the India Venster route. Tough on the thighs (it's pretty much all big rocks to step up) but well worth it.

Wow, that is amazing.

@Jupitus when @Tom mentions big rocks you need to realise that due to your height they are mini mountain peaks on the hiking trail.
