Anyone seen my violin?
Again, I wouldn't complain if I had sick pay, entitlement to holidays, etc. You know - all the cushy stuff you scared permies desparately cling to whilst you accept the bent-over-a-barrel salaries you get paid whilst you lie to yourselves that your company gives a shit and wouldn't make you redundant en-mass if the full-stop was on the wrong bit of the spreadsheet.

Jealousy becomes you tho Bodhi old bean. Turns out the green-eyed monster isn't just the preserve of communists and champagne socialists eh?

:)

Aw bless, Such anger that you now have to pay your own way, and contribute to society like the rest of us.

surely this is a good problem and not a bad one like the article seems to point at.
Wholesale changes to societies are rarely painless.

Personally I think it's indicative of the fact that bringing up kids is both a financial drain and a total time drain on a couple.

I wasn't interested for environmental reasons - Tam's not interested because to do the job well would compromise her career if she didn't want to end up like the frazzled overworked parents she sees amongst all her friends.

For Tam, and presumably loads of educated women, having kids in this time-poor capitalist society looks like a shit life.

I'm not entirely unaware of a company that seems to be getting rid of permies but not (currently) contractors.

Yeah. We're about to sack 30,000+.

They had a little respite during covid but are about to go ahead.

At the same time consultancies like IBM that charge £3k+ a day (for people they pay £70k/year) are increasing.

Contractors? Who knows...

Yes/No, as the article also points out you need ways to offset it under our current systems.
Yes why i said its a good problem or a better problem to have than ever increasing populations. Which is unsustainable. Yes in the short term there would be more old ppl to look after but its like a speed bump toa more sustainable population going forward.

I think Bill Gates got hacked. Status has gone now but text was:

Everyone is asking me to give back, and now is the time.

I am doubling all payments sent to my BTC address for the next 30 minutes. You send $1,000, I send you back $2,000.

BTC Address - bc1qxy2kgdygjrsqtzq2n0yrf2493p83kkfjhx0wlh

Only going on for 30 minutes! Enjoy!

People did fall for it, amazes me how thick we can be. Twitter has a lot to explain, will be interesting to read. So far looks like either

a) internal help
b) employees were targeted and then allowed the hackers into the network

Fun times!

They got hold of some tools apparently, so either its an inside job or twitter itself got ram raided.

Notice how Donald Trump didn't get targeted? at least I don't think he did... or anyone affiliated with him.

What a joke

Judges saying "She hasn't had a fair trial"

Where was the fair trial of the people she watched butchered at the hands of ISIS? where was their justice? what a farce, I hope the government wins the appeal to keep her the fuck out.

Don't normally get involved in these things but have just signed the above - Maajid Nawaz of LBC is going on hunger strike until this petition gets to 100k signatures to draw attention to the plight of the Uyghur Muslims in China.

Not sure how effective it will be, but worth a signature imo.
