The damage has been done to climate science, by wild guesses, ludicrous worst case scenarios, clueless hipsters demanding the impossible while cruising through life on the back of fossil fuels.

No ones doing any actual reduction anywhere...not a single summit promise has been fulfilled, politicians dont give a fuck because we dont and any meaningful reduction would bring society as we know it to a halt.

Every natural event is a fucking disaster because of global heating, theres millions of sea rise migrants though the sea is only rising 2.5mm a year.
Loads more hurricanes!!

Well there was less..

Oh yeah..that as well and this was was really big, there you go, bound to be one eventually.

I know you choose to forget, but 100s of millions around the world remember decades of false claims and scare mongering and just roll their eyes at the next lot.

The EU is hitting its overall Paris targets, so is, amazingly, India, and if they cancel a couple of power station projects (which now seems likely), they’ll actually hit their target five years early. There are a few other countries on track, but China, Russia, North America (yes, looking at you Canada) and the Middle East are the big problem. China has the will to do something, the Americans will actually do something despite Trump (because the American renewables industry is seeing stock market growth of 32% a year versus 1% for coal and money talks even when orange idiots talk about opening coal mines).

Despite all the Sky falling in stuff, it’s not all bad news.

I'm curious, if your doctor said to you need to change x or you're going to die, would you just ignore him?

That's how you seem to deal with all negative stuff that needs action to fix.

The 52 underground coal mine fires in china produce more carbon monoxide into the air than all the traffic in usa.

...and one cruise ship idling in Southampton harbour produces more CO2 than all the traffic in the town. Yay, we've all got environmental horror stories; what's your point?

Just a comparison of the fact the world wont improve until everyone does it together. And even getting all of the eu carbon neutral the carbon would still go up.

i just dont see everyone agreeing to do enough in a timely manner to make a difference in time to stop what the scientists predict.

so its hope the predictions are wrong time i guess.

No. You're using it as a justification to do nothing, and for us to do nothing. It's standard denialist shite.

Bollocks. You don't wait, you lead. And while you probably can't stop what's coming, you can mitigate as much as you can.

The actual reductions?

More promises based on spin.
How are you going to meaningfully reduce carbon emissions in the UK without seriously disrupting daily life?

Heating..food production, travel, electric generation ,cooking and manufacturing.
The only way is nuclear, why isnt everyone praising the French on a daily basis.

The UK has already reduced carbon emissions by 42% since it began setting targets, while growing the economy and population; has your daily life been materially disrupted?

As it happens I agree that nuclear will have to be part of the mix, especially as the UK is likely to be excluded from European energy trading schemes

I do what i can. Recycle as much as possible. Changed my working arrangement so i dont commute. Get refillable things like washing up liquid rather than plastic packaging and such. I am not a high consumer of clothing. Usually wearing stuff till its no good then putting it in recycling etc.

i do stuff. I just dont think the world will come together and do enough stuff.

Utter bullshit claims...even your hero Greta says its actually less than 10%.

The 42% figure excludes emissions from international aviation, shipping and imports, accusing the UK government of "very creative carbon accounting".

Everyone does that...the usual bullshit...

What makes you think Greta Thunberg is “my hero”? This is your fucking problem; everything is adversarial; no nuance, no balance, just bullshit as dogmatic as anyone on the left.

Your mistake is replying to him. He's a monumental Troll...
Wheres the trolling..they are the facts, they conveniently leave out the vast majority of the emissions.

And I have it in good authority that he has her as a screensaver on his phone...riding a polar bear.
