I listen to an interview with Count Dankula...nazi pug guy.

He said when the police came around..they pretended to be as amused as him and jokingly said..go on, tell us what happened here.

It was a trap...he basically incriminated himself by admitting to the 'crime'.
His advice....dont say a fucking word till you have one of those twats whose job it is to play out the panto for you.

They're always after "more powers" - but why not use the powers they already have?

As a landlord, I'd fucking *love* it if the councils would put dodgy landlords out of business. Nottingham have just brought in a landlord registration scheme (at the cost of £700/house and a £35000 fine if you don't register) which is supposed to fund the increase in the quality of housing across the city. But there's two people in the department, taking the cash from everyone, and they're not actually *doing* anything but taking a lot more cash.

They've already got very strong powers of visitation and enforcement - but they don't use them.

Meanwhile, tenants the world over are whining about landlords being shit (whilst a surprisingly large proportion of them have no problem trashing houses - and it's not just the "poor" ones) and many of them are indeed living in shit accomodation. But councils continue do do *nothing*. :\

I hated being a landord. And middle-class "educated" tenants can easily be just as filthy and destructive as any DSS tenant; more so frankly.

Through all the years of letting in the south of France... a solicitor, his NHS director wife and their 3 practically feral children* left the house in a worse state than anybody else by a country mile. Broken crockery, every shower in the place blocked, unflushed toilets, no attempt to do what was asked of them (a clean was included in the price but they were asked to "leave the house in the state in which they found it"). The one and only time I've ever refused to give any of a damages deposit back.

* the kids were all nice, they just had no concept of cleaning up after themselves or looking after possessions. There was probably a team of nannies and housekeepers at home and the parents just had no idea what to do without them. The dad was nice too actually, but the mother was a cow. She accidentally packed some of the books from the house in her luggage and took them back to the UK and then sent them back from her work, paid for by the NHS, which annoyed me.

The married couple across the road from my mother are a headteacher and a senior manager.
The house is a frickin shithole inside and at least twice a week they knock for the spare key my mother keeps for them...they went on holiday and asked her to check on the house...she said the inside is like a horders with used food packaging strewn all over the place...the womans a great laugh though and very attractive, she just doesnt do clean.

I think that not saying anything to police without a lawyer if they are investigating you is a smart move

They can, will, and are legally allowed to lie to you to get you to incriminate yourself

It's a dick move. That's an inordinately large fine for having the temerity to brew up a cuppa.

I'd have picked a better spot myself than right next to the Rialto, but it's still fucking harsh.

I think they're just trying to make it into an exclusive place for the super rich, by using the environmental challenges that they have as cover.

Which is fine, I have no interest in Venice anyway, I don't really understand why you would want to go to a place where you're not actually welcome.

Its difficult.
Braun always stayed by the story, he was a rocket enthusiast who became useful and simply turned a blind eye to get his dream.

Open flame in a public crowded place is just fucking stupid

Its a world heritage site ffs not a camping ground

Cook it at home and stick it in a thermos if you dont want to pay the extortianate prices
