Come on @dysfunction old bean. Why isn't the above an accurate assessment of what's happened?

Are you actually pro indiscriminate video surveillance of the entire population?

That's not what I was face palming. Just your end piece. I'm not interested in going over dead ground
It's not dead ground @dysfunction. It's totally new ground.

The dead ground was the protesting asshat. This is completely different.

Unless, of course, you support the police in what they're doing on this occasion too...

New question, completely different circumstances. Just wanted your opinion...

(that and it's a slow news day)

Yes it must be a slow news day. I've not read it and not willing to either. I'm not going to be dragged into every nuance that you can dig up as I can't be bothered!

Let's just say as a general blanket answer if you're a victim of police abusing their authority when you are going about your general business then they need to be brought to account. I don't have an issue with that as I have said previously.

End of discussion.

Scouse only deals in absolutes; it's why he changed his views on the 2nd Amendment in the US.

Because they NEED their guns to protect theirselves from the Government, and -every- form of regulation is just an attempt to pacify the population.

This is why we can't advance as a society, because we refuse to compromise on our 18th century ideals in a 21st century world.

But suggesting we have a conversation about how we can protect society further with doing the least possible damage to our freedoms is completely anti-freedoms so LALALA NO WAY.

Quite happy to have a conversation. If either of you had read the story and commented then we might be having that conversation - one about total surveillance.

Last time I looked - it wasn't me going LALALALA LETS NOT TALK ABOUT IT.

You're happy to talk about it?

You just dismiss it as me being anti-freedoms and pro-Stasi state and then you just reel off more examples that you assume I agree with because I love being controlled by the state.

You don't have conversations, you just shove your point of view down people's throats and aggressively dismiss anything that might be different to that idea.

Just because you can't bully someone into an argument doesn't mean we've got our head in the sand.
Get over it already.

When I opened this thread, this is what I saw. If you didn't know that I had a certain person on ignore, you would think dysfunction had gone mad and was talking to himself. Although having said that the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results... :p

You and I have a very different understanding of what that word means.

"Provoke" I'll settle for :)

I'd probably settle for 'being a bit of an arse' ... is it really necessary?

It was a completely different scenario. Not a guy provoking cops to test their limits - it's literally cops provoking people and then dishing out fines when people don't conform in ways they're not even legally required to do so.

It's disgusting and I thought (and still think) it warrants further discussion.

I'm sometimes a wanker, yes, but when I am I'm a wanker for a reason - and nobody objects when I do it to Job when he's being an obstinate asshat - unwilling to consider an argument as it stands...

But you post it thinking that Dysfunction and I are going to agree with it, which we clearly don't.

It's like linking someone who thinks we need to do something about immigration, then suggesting because of that they're also racists.

No. Not clearly. That's why I asked...

....is this another "oh you meant middle-class black kids" situation :)

Okay, you presumed, otherwise you wouldn't have posted it.
I was being a bit of a dick, considering our last exchange, but the story is the story and still warrants discussion.

Has everyone got really touchy all of a sudden? Or is it the whole brexit/trump/polarisation thing that has become the new normal? :\

If you feel that way, discuss it then! Discuss it with your missus or the milkman or the postman...
I can't be bothered and if i am in agreement with you there isn't much to discuss.

Just say, yep, you agree then?

This is a discussion forum Dys. "Facepalm" doesn't say "actually, I don't disagree with you on this one, so stop being a wanker" - which would have ended the conversation after a single post.

You are so keen on having an argument that you are arguing about arguing.
You can't just let things go and need to go into minute detail about everything which is why I'm not interested.

So over and out from me on this as it feels i'm here:
