I keep saying this but it's a point that doesn't seem to be able to sink in - I've never said unopposed. I've said not criminalised for their opinions.

So, to bring the best example up: the United States. Because the founding fathers looked around the world and realised that if government controls thought then the people are no better than slaves - and better to put up with all sorts of shit than that.

I guess you like countries like Saudi Arabia where the government controls those things, and is trusted to be right. And make no mistake - if you live in a country where you're not free to decide what you think is right or wrong then you live in a country which is on that Saudi sliding-scale spectrum.


Either way. The existence of bad people in this world doesn't mean that I need to be managed. I can tell the difference of right from wrong and government control of what opinions are right and wrong removes the opportunity for me to make my own mind up.
