That's because there isn't an answer, looking for logic in something like nukes would be pointless but that isn't going to stop countries wasting money on them.

Sorry, but there is a very silly thing to say when you claim to live in a democracy.

Yeah fuck you Corbyn for not wanting to use the things we all dread and fear.

I for one would rather live under Overlord Putin than be dust.

They have kept the peace because they became the singularity of retaliation.

So saying you wont use yours is about as idiotic as it gets.

We know how you feel about that job. I think it's a crock of horseshit but we'll agree to disagree.

It's your willingness to committ mass murder and suicide at the same time that concerns me - like we could fire even a single nuke without massive reciprocal existence-ending retaliation.

But hey ho.

Realistically though - If Russia wiped out Europe in couple of weeks, conventionally and then were about to cross the Channel, either America would fuck them up or they'd just roll into the UK too, I highly doubt any nuclear weapons would be used on either side. So what's the point spending all that money on them when they could be used to save people's lives instead?

To be fair, I'd rather live under putin than be dead.

Wouldn't you?

Nationality > Life.

I do find it funny when people find other countries die-hard nationalism weird, but we've been convinced that's its a better idea to blow up in a fiery ball than be ruled by foreign powers.

The point is moot since using conventional weapons NATO could stop him, but I suspect many wouldn't want to live under him and I suspect many wouldn't be after a short.

I think you'd be surprised, all you're doing is swapping out our elites taking a disproportionate amount of wealth to their elites taking a disproportionate amount of wealth.

Vladimir Putin - “Not evil enough to nuke”.

Glad to see Russia has made progress since the Soviet era.

No I really wouldn't, I've seen it on these very forums.

Not suggesting he wouldn't nuke.

But there isn't much logical sense to nuke, especially when it's no longer a battle of ideologies.

Wifi is going shitty.

Complained to Virgin Media.

They responded with 'We provide cable, the Wifi is an added bonus if it doesn't work its not our fault.'

That makes nuclear weapons a moot point too.

If the only way he can beat us is by nuclear war, which would mean there's nothing left to take over, then we can ditch our nukes happy in the knowledge that a) he knows we won't nuke him, so feels more secure and b) we can feel happy that we can't be invaded - because our conventional forces are doing a job. C) if he decides to lob all his nukes at us anyway, just for shits and giggles, then there's sweet FA we can do about it, and will die anyway.

So we may as well disarm. Save the cash and have zero change in our threat level, other than being marginally less likely to be nuked as we're not a nuclear threat.

Win-win :)

Well I would, are we suggesting if Corbyn gets in, Putin then says...if hes not invited in...Im taking over, are you going to defend yourselves?
Nope...
OK see you on Thursday.

Or as I presume you mean..you would want America to do it for us.

See the point about conventional forces.

He can't invade us.

He can kill us with nukes regardless, but to what end? Only a madman would wipe people out for no reason - and if we get a madman in charge there's nothing that can be done anyway...

Bridge it to a decent router with cable problem solved

Yup.
@Gwadien - if you're fine wired in then it's your problem, if it doesn't work on a cable then it's their problem.

Can't realistically ask 'em to diagnose wifi problems. They deliver data to your door - after that it's up to you.

They provide the router though, surely they should have to provide a working router.

Huh. Over here VM sell “their” wireless as super-dead-good-great-better-than-all-the-others. It’s shite. But they don’t hide behind any “added bonus” bullshit, so if its fucked they will try to fix it. Mine is OK for speed but it drops connections randomly far too often. It just goes away and then comes back again at random.

They should but they can't ensure the signal will not be blocked in your place, unless it's turned to rubbish overnight in which case get them to send a new router.

The one provided by ISP (with auth baked into it so have to use it) is rubbish, oh and they also force updates over air so network name and wifi password resets to default all the time (their support doesnt understand why i dont want that), so i bridge it to an asus one for wifi

How are they to diagnose whether the wifi is working? You need to prove it's the router, not your phone or laptop disconnecting due to them being crap or you walking too far away.

I can see if from both sides but @Ormorof is right. And virgin can't remotely diagnose intermittent wifi problems. But wired-in? Have you done any diagnostics to prove it's not that and is deffo wifi?
