I cant take it anymore, is the entire western world going to get a fucking sleeve tat?
It has become the most pointless, moronic, mainstream brain virus I have seen in my lifetime.
Im picturing them at the parlour, an entire waiting room of balloon heads.
What dya want mate?
Er..a sleeve tat..
Ok..lots of squiggles and a clock and a bird and maybe a ship or summit?

Sounds great.

Well, that sums up your type for me.

Goes onto an online platform, intentionally posts provocative things and then gets upset when they act on the provocation.

Interesting.

@Job here is the reality of your Populist state.

Italy: Migrants must leave 'friendly' town

Mayor welcomes immigrants into a town which wanted more people and lots of empty houses.

Populist government gets voted in, they WIRETAP their political opponent (the mayor) and have him arrested for suggesting to an immigrant to get married so that they could stay in the country.

Well at least in this country its illegal to get married for residential status when its not a genuine relationship so the mayor was a bit silly.

Have no idea about wire tap laws in italy do you?

And our resident snowflake stepped out of his echo chamber and saw people saying stuff he didn't agree with, and retreated back to safety so he could only read "right think".

Nah, I engage people with stuff I don't agree with all the time.

@Moriath just appears to reply aimlessly on every single post with some kind of belittling authoritarian approach, it's like asking for the opinion of a brick wall.

Nope not gonna argue anything. Just point out the weakness in your displeasure.

To be fair to @Gwadien, @Moriath's post was shite - bringing up Italian wiretap law in the manner he did dismisses any rightness or wrongness - it's just a STFU without attempting to add to the argument.

Mori does that quite often tbh.

Going back to mayor telling immigrants to get married for residence papers.
Theres the end of his game in a country being swarmed with illegal migrants.
Just another stick for conservatives to whack liberals with.

This quote just says it all.

How is it possible to think of destroying the 'Riace model', which has been described by innumerable people, politicians, intellectuals and artists, as an extraordinary experience?", he is quoted as saying on AFP.

Jesus wept..intellectuals and artists.

Its not wrong if they are allow to do that in italy.

You might not like it. But thats a different question.

So you're saying that politically motivated arrests are acceptable?

I also noticed that they also used some elements of 'corruption' to arrest him - 2 accounts of handing over garbage disposal contracts without proper consultation.

I mean, if you're going to attack corruption in Italy, I'm sure there's cases worse than this.

If rape was legal in Italy, because Italian law said it was OK, then it'd be right then?

Come on @Moriath - why do you lower yourself like this?

In that country yes. They would have done nothing wrong in the eys of the law there.

What you are trying to do is enforce your moral compass on another culture.

Now no country has rape legal as far as i know so you are taking it to the nth degree to make a stupid point.

If you havent lived in italy and understand what is and isnt acceptable then you cant force them to do things your way because you have a different set of principles.

Go to the old russian states and no one is telling them not to drink or smoke so much because they have a different relationship with their government. After years of soviet influence telling them what to do every second of their lives there is no tollerance for nanny state.

So like i said, it would be seen as unacceptable in this country with our values if they didnt have a warrent to wire tap for a state sponsored reason.

But because i dont know what the circumstances of getting the wire tap are and what is deemed acceptable in italy i think faux shock thousands of miles away means little

Lol!

So if rape was legal then it would be "right".

Why don't you just admit when you're being a dick?

The point wasn't stupid - I used an extreme example because it'sthat a useful tool to illustrate that your appeal to the authoritarian "law = right" argument is idiotic and simplistic.

Only a tool would front up to that and say something like "rape is OK if it's legal in that country", right?

Oh. Wait.

Jesus @Scouse you use an extreme example to argue a point where example you're using is extreme to mask the point. The point made is clear. Change the example context to something less explosive like copyright of media and you have countries where it is legal and most where it is not. In the countries where there are no copyright laws the people downloading movies are doing nothing wrong, in the eyes of their legal system.

It was a very simple point and @Moriath is correct. Bring rape into it and yes it would always be morally abhorrent and wrong but its a diversion from the point made

But we're talking about Italy, not North Korea.

So @Moriath's point was that Wiretap laws in Italy are a bit more authoritarian than ours, which the mayor should have known about before making such suggestions over the phone?

There is no part of that that doesn't make sense to me. It's like if I get caught with some weed over here, saying it's legal in California so should be legal here is neither here nor there. It's illegal here, so I would get punished by the laws here (fuck all in the case of weed possession). See also doing 130 mph on the motorway, etc etc.
