Painted my first miniatures in ten years today. Forgot just about how much it kills my neck/back to sit hunched over like a gargoyle focusing on small details. Great fun though.

I doubt many Germans deemed it necessary to gas Jews to death. Leaders should represent the best of humanity and strive to improve everyone's lot. Hitler did neither of those things.

As for ISIS, no doubt the western invasion of Iraq played an important role, but we didn't start the Arab Spring that so badly destabilised Syria and allowed ISIS to flourish and I don't think it's fair for anyone to say that the situation there is entirely of our own making.

Anti Jewish sentiment was rife at this point - don't forget prior to ww2 Hitler wasn't exactly hated by Western Europe, but we had to fight them for the same reason we went to Iraq - alliances.

We just managed to justify ww2 with hindsight, we haven't done that with Iraq.

Anti Muslim sentiment is high across the world at the minute, people are screaming for ISIS to be blown out of existence - the only way you do that properly is by destroying entire families that have been caught up in their ideology - they're innocent but they could still carry the disease.

Now think about that - even if you don't think that's the only way you can go about it - in theory, it works to keep your family safe right? It's kind of the same thing that happened with Jews during the 19th and early 20th century, ghettos weren't a Nazi creation, anti Jewish sentiment in the UK was high, but we were the nicest to them out of the European nations.

Now. Back to modern day - America does this - they destroy ISIS and their families OR Iran does this.

How are these actions percieced differently? Justification to go to war with Iran or justification to put a president of the US on a 400 year inquiry?

I think this is laughable bollocks. I imagine the vast majority of people in ISIS-controlled areas are just trying to keep their heads down and get on with life. The perpetrators of the violence are, as usual, the minority who spoil it for everyone else.

Why have you quoted Scouse? Weird.

Anyway, nope, I think they have a bigger out reach than you think, and besides, when you start bombing them they'll be even more supportive

No idea how that happened. The forum must be gaining sentience and presuming that argumentative posts are Scouse's :)

Just went to Tesco to get lunch, and there was a gentleman selling Sky contracts in the foyer. Initially went up to moan about how crap their internet is, asked if Fibre was available (wasn't when we moved in 3 months ago), he said yes, that will be an extra £2.50 a month for unlimited, your router will be here next week.

Result!

Not from what I've read. Around half of the people are quite happy to go with an extreme muslim ideology...

Wheres it say that? Not sure there is anything reliable supporting you or toms theory on whats happening in IS as no reporters or non sided people are allowed there. And very few get out

Yes but I'd rather eat my own testes with a rusty spoon and some rocket than ever deal with that bunch of useless cunts ever again.

After 4 years at 3-4 Mbit, 40 will do me fine :)

Don't you need Fibre Pro from Sky for their "up to 80"?

Not sure, I wanted to switch to Sky earlier in the year to consolidate suppliers and they only offered 40, regardless of package.

BT are OK if it all works and (touch wood) everything does work at the moment, I can't even remember the last time I lost the internet but yeah, when things go wrong you might as well ask your mum to fix it.

Edit, just checked, still capped at 40.

Plus they've decided we all have to pay extra for the Champions League, so they can show it on their channel with 3 subscribers, so they can doubly fuck off.

If you speak Indian and use their "live chat" they're not too bad for tech support - just tell them what they want to hear to get Openreach involved.

Re Champions League, I'm getting tired of the content disintegration - NHL on Prermier Sports, golf on Sky Sports, Champions League on BT Sports. Fuck right off.

Turns out monopolies aren't always such a bad thing. It would be OK if bts coverage was any good, but they've got Robbie Savage and Obvious Owen as pundits, and it sucks donkey balls - even Setanta was better.

Best thing about it all was BT moaning Sky had a monopoly. This is the BT that controls most of the phone and Broadband in the UK. Tossers.

I have BT broadband and I get around 69mbps, never had a problem with them tbh. The package im on gives me BT vision and I have got one of their YouView boxes, but its still in the box, sealed up as I don't have a tv ariel to plug into it, so its useless to me. I have no interest in football or any sport for that matter, but I get the BT sport channels for free as I have their broadband (not activated them though) I also get the F1 SKY channel for free too as I have the SKY HD package, couldn't tell you what channel its on though?

BT call and email all the time wondering why my YouView box is not showing any activity. I told them when I signed up not to bother sending me the box as I cant use it, but they said 'well its part of the deal so we'll send it anyway'

And before you say, its cheaper to have the tv package in the bundle than not, go figure?

Steven Gerrard. As if I needed another reason (Humphrey, Owen, Hargreaves, Ferdinand, Scholes) not to give BT any money.

Ah, another bunch of muppets I don't want to deal with again.
